Clarifying Rule 7a - regarding trading - also posted in league e-mail.
(a) during Pre-Season: Must be on active roster. You can add a player you own from FA to your roster to trade to another owner, but you must release a player of similar salary value, and cannot re-add that player until 24 hours after the trade (to give Owner X a chance to pick him up if he wants to)

By similar salary value - I do not mean the player has to be the exact same cost. Lets say you want to trade Player X who costs 5.6m to another owner. That means you'd need to release a player in the 4-6m range, rather than a player who costs exactly 5.6m.
Also - I am quite willing to go more flexible. Lets say you want to trade Player Y who costs 8m, but you don't have a 8m player to release. You can drop 2 players whose worth is a little more than the 8m player - say 2 players of 5m .
Basically this rule is to ensure that Red Beards (and future owners with last pick in Rd 3) has some decent players available for him to finish out his roster and ensures owners put something useful into the FA Pool for every player they trade out of the FA Pool.
The important thing is that you are (a) trading from active roster to active roster and (b) the FA Pool isnt completely stripped bare. As long as owners dont drop scrubs in order to pick up and trade H. Aarons you should be fine. :)
