1ST LIVE DRAFT 2 left to fill PM, SPLINTER,

Postby AeroDave10 » Thu Mar 29, 2012 11:52 pm

It's a limitation of Diamond Dope that the clock has to be on in order to skip over someone whose allotted time has passed. Turning the clock back on in order to allow picks to be made is something that has to be done. If the commish (or other administrators) could override the system more easily, we would have had the Shields / Lincecum incident. Unfortunately, we have to work with DD gives us.

its a moot point, im not gonna turn the clock back on, but somebody turned it off.
from here on, let us know if something comes up, otherwise skips will be made promptly and enthusiastically.
if it was my call, and in a way it is, but I want to accomodate the majority, I'd just go by whatever diamond dope determines the clock is, but ive been unable to figure out exactly what those hours are, except to know it goes past midnight eastern.
this is a good group of veterans who are almost universally responsible and want to keep this thing moving.
drafts need to have a rhythum to keep everyone involved, let's get ours back friday, or overnight in Ireland.

Hi guys,

Apologies for causing a delay last night. Most of you know that I am in the UK, and as such I am 7 hours ahead of the DD clock. So when Paul made his delayed second pick it was 3am here. I had some proxies loaded, but they failed to fire (even though they were turned on). The DD site has been extremely unreliable lately.

Here's the deal with the clock though. It shuts off automatically each night at 10pm central time. It cannot be manually restarted until the next morning. That's why you couldn't skip me. According to the clock my time had not expired. I've had many chats with Adrian about the clock, and that's just the way it is.

Apologies again.

oooh. And that Duncan pick hurt. I was thinking he might last another round, or maybe two.
