Drafting Non-Carded Players

Postby travelingjack » Tue Mar 20, 2012 3:29 pm

[quote:bbadf1689e="Terry101"]Same here; I will contribute.

Draft question. I am up and out of time. I would like to draft Kendry Morales. I think he is a legal choice, but not on the draft list. If I can do that fine, if not I will draft Rex Brothers (RP) but I didn't want to put Brothers in there in case the Morales pick was legal. Answer?[/quote:bbadf1689e]

I drafted Morales for you- according to dan's earlier post any player with MLB experience can be drafted.

To pick a non-carded player yourself here is what you have to do:

Click on "My Profile" then scroll to bottom of the page. Enter the player's info in the "Obtain ID for pre-majors" box. Fill in all the info except for groups and salary, leave those blank. Hit submit when finished, then you should be able to draft the player when your turn is up or put him in your autodraft list. He will be listed as a# instead of s#, I think underneath the standard players but don't remember for certain.

[b:bbadf1689e]Important- when you create a non-carded player use the following format:

Morales Kendry h (or p) Level- other

If two owners spell the name differently or use different capitalization or one lists a player as a hitter and one as a pitcher stratdraft will think they are two separate players and let both of them get drafted, creating a mess.[/b:bbadf1689e]

Is there a reason we don't see a time limit for the next pick?

The clock shuts off three hours before the end time for the day, which azp has set for 5 EST. So since the last pick was less than 3 hours before the end of the day it shut off until tomorrow morning.

Other questions- Azpanthers paid for the site so if he wants contributions that's up to him.

The site can either be used for one month or a year (and then renewed). Once a league's draft is finished another one can be started, though the main admin owner can only run one league. We could use it for the prospect draft but it can be a pain due to everyone having to enter the players name's and making sure they are all entered exactly the same. It does work very good for FA and supplemental drafts.

[quote:dd93b8115e="joekendall"]How much did it cost to run the draft on stratdraft.com? Are we able to only run 1 draft at that cost during the year? What features are missing that we use in a keeper league?

Is there a way we can help offset the cost?

Thanks very much for doing this!!![/quote:dd93b8115e]

AZPanthers11:

Could you answer these questions for me?

Thanks!
