[quote:c2078d95b1]kaviksdad...it's not true that every other league does it this way. I run a league of my own, the NSKL. Everyone hated having the draft grind to a halt on weekends, and because it's a pain in the *** to still have to check the boards because no one has to pick, but they might pick anyway, we got rid of that rule. I couldn't remember if we'd also done the same thing in the MLKL, so I checked the rules.
You are correct that sometimes things may not be covered by the rules, but once they're discovered, the rules should be clarified. When you say we've had this debate before, that only raises the question all the more why it hasn't been put in the one place where people are supposed to go to check the rules.
Although I hate the rule about weekends, my point is more of a general nature that we can't continue to have some rules that are written, some that are unwritten, some that are found on p. 52 of the chat board, or worst of all, it's in some other league's rules.[/quote:c2078d95b1]
You're preaching to the choir Billy - you were here at the beginning and lived through all the arguments and exchanges. I like to think that when I took over Joe's team things improved. You remember what it was like...
I know every other league doe things this way - that's not what I said. I said the leagues I run and the leagues I AM AWARE OF. I'm sorry, I don't know about yours.
If you want to institute a rule about a weekend clock you're more than welcome. If you want to change the existing rules that are in place be my guest. Rule changes can be proposed by anyone at any time - and all it takes is 8 of us to vote yes (super-majority rules here) to pass them. Which means convincing a super majority that the problem requires a written rule.
