Postby ROBERTVOZZA » Tue Feb 06, 2007 2:25 pm

Great job coming back to take it all as you did. Condolences, Mike(Riggo)...Maybe next year will be the one. I think you may have the highest Win Pct. of all LOTO Teams alltime tho.

Hoist the LOTO Championship Flag for your team, AT...Well deserved and well earned. :D Robert

If time permits...

In the late Spring(May/June) I will definitely help whomever is interested in keeping the 2007 LOTO TOUR Alive...I am thinking Cummings, AT and maybe Stoney or anyone who is used to putting together tours.

I sure missed the JaserD Tour this past year. Heck, I might even place a team under a different name - Like my wife's - And play anonymously. (Only 1 team of course - but no swpsychic/Robvoz team.)

I might pick a slutty woman's name and play all my games in a miniskirt, tights and high heels.

I will probably do a similar format minus the 100M League - Maybe 80-60-80 and have most of the rest be the same. We'll see come Spring. I'll definitely keep in touch - At least until all my 06' teams are done.

You have always been a great competitor in every league we've ever been in together...And thanks for the kind wishes. If I didn't take winning so seriously and be able to just play and enjoy the process, I'd probably be able to carry a few teams. But 10-20 hrs of my frree time a week has taken its toll - almost like another PT job.

I used t play the board game when I was a kid and then again in my mid 20's with a group of my friends. about 8 of us each had a National and American League Team. And we'd have a 16 team Draft from all the players. Each League would play about 60 games and we'd have a World Series. I played 5 yrs and my AL team won titles in the 1st, 3rd and 5th seasons and my NL team made the Finals in Season 2 - All keeper Leagues. it was tremendous fun.

Then, after 5 yrs of 20 hrs a week input into those Leagues(I was 27 at the time) and had finally finished Film School in Bridgeport, CT - I figure it was time to get serious with my life and parlayed that extra 20 hrs - in addition to my fulltime job working courier in the major metro NY area into writing screenplays. The writing part worked over the next 7 yrs. The selling them didn't...Inherited a Family with 2 kids along the way after that - Then a Divorce and what was seemingly and endless stream of business failures, deaths in my family, auto accidents, a ton of debt a second marriage and family and a plethora of injuries between age 43 to just last year when I turned 53 in September...

I diodn't think my body could take another year of 60 Hr work weeks, but I commited to changing my life at that time - working my butt off until the debt was paid so I could free my creative mind again and work on some solid, lucrative ideas I had along the way...Now I am on the verge of digging myself out of the huge hole I dug for what seemed like an eternity...

And as I did after 5 yrs of SOM the 1st time, I decided to transfer this parttime job into the development of a life saving medical device that I want to market through an infomercial 1st in the US and Europe(English speaking Nations) and then finally worldwide - Especially China, India and Japan...

I figure i am on borrowed time and want to leave something of value for my 3 children before I am gone.

So that's the story...I am grateful to bothe this fun game as well as this great community for comfortable escape it has provided me the past 5 yrs. I have made many good friends - several I have actually met in person, who I believe I will remain friends with - both here on the Boards as well as in REAL LIFE - They all know who they are.

The creation of LOTO eveolved out of Private Leagues with those friends growing past 24 players - I didn't feel i could leave anyone out withot hurting people's feelings, so I just created a Tour and added more players. It has just grown to a proportion where I'd have to add 12-24 more in 07'...But definitely too time consuming to do again under the circumstances...

So with this post, I'd like to thank everyone who has ever participated in LOTO the past 3 years - It has been a great pleasure for me and hopefully as enjoyable for everyone else.

But the time has arrived to bid you all a verfy fond farewell... :( :)

My best always,

Robert - The Swpsychic

[b:cffefe372c]Team Awards:[/b:cffefe372c]

MVP - Bobby Abreu

Was my key bat in this slimmed down offense.

CY Young - Mark Mulder

My only 20 game winner and led staff with ERA

Rolaids Relief - Latroy Hawkins

Hard to pick 1 cheapie reliever out of all of them, but he was one of the best

Pleasant Surprise - Joe Blanton

2nd most wins amongst pitchers, and a very impressive era/whip.

Disappointing Performance - Willy Taveras

Pretty pedestrian despite facing mostly RH pitching

Playoff MVP - Joe Blanton

Went 3-0 with a 2.10 .86 stat line and pitched great in Game VII to help us win the title

Playoff CY Young - Horacio Ramirez

While my big guns went 2-4, Ramirez & Blanton went 5-0, and Ramirez shut down his opponents for 14 consecutive innings, which was critical since he won BOTH games 1-0.

Playoff Relief - Duaner Sanchez

Maybe no wins or saves, just 10 IP of almost lights outs pitching

Playoff Surprise - Bobby Abreu

Guess he wanted to make up for the missed opportunity with the Yankees. ;)

Playoff Disappointment - Randy Johnson

Only pitched 14 IP in 3 starts, giving up double digit runs.

robvoz: Guess all good things come to an end sooner or later. Thanks for all your efforts re: LOTO and other leagues. Glad to hear you'll be keeping in touch, and hope you'll give 2007 a try, even if just once during the year. :)

Your LOTO Finals team kind of reminds me of that one of mine - That just made the post season on the last day of the season, but then played their best ball of the year in the 2 playoff rounds - The finals round was against your team. glad to see the great come from behind wins. Must feel good.

I will be arond - popping in now and then...Just too many people I have gotten to know and respect to just disappear altogether.
