LOTO(AKA League Of their Own) 05' CONSOLATION LEAGUE

Actually...

Postby ROBERTVOZZA » Fri Feb 03, 2006 2:22 am

I think that a lot of the "Sick and Twisted dark humor and goofy male banter " of the Vets/Rooks 101 League has carried over into this LOTO League because so many of us from that one transferred over - And I just get the feeling that without explanation - players like Big, TRich and AT could be conceivably shaking their heads and wondering about some of the whacky posts here...It's just that we all had such a good time in that league with the chemistry and banter and momentum carrying over - that it could conceivably be perceived as an inside joke that we haven't exactly let them in on yet...

So just in case my alterego has any of the LOTO Regulars slightly miffed by the more over the top humor than my ego's personna(Swpsychic) it is just because this group, which I had more fun with than perhaps many of the other 70 or so leagues I have played in - just seemed to bring that less serious weirdo side of me out into the open and feel really good about it...But believe me - It was always there, I just kept it under control...

So, it's still me - that polite voice of reason that my other side tends to be - just that now it's polite and practical in leotards, G-string and ballplayers with Carmen Miranda Fruit Caps...With a Purple turf stadium, free daquiris and erotic dancers.

Cha Cha and SOM are one...

Those Carmen Miranda fruit caps always get me...the best thing of this LOTO is that it has fulfilled the promised image of Randy Johnson with the Miranda hat and the dorothy-red spiked shoes

Maybe it's me but I think Bonds liked playing with the leotards and Fiery red G-String...he's been seen to walk around the clubhouse with nothing but his fire engine red G...you certainly made an impact on him Rob :D

(Ty: I know you love those kind of visuals...let me know if the therapy bill gets too high :P )

BTW, just for reference and a good laugh, here are the threads of both signup and 101 league...some stuff still cracks the beejeebies out of me:

Page 9 of the Chat has the good concept of the DAT FUG/FUG DAT themed league...we should remember that for next year...in fact, you can take the bottom 12 of the LOTO next year and turn it into the "Fug Dat Shid Consodation Deague" for the severeley nose clogged wanting to vent out some frustration.

----

On a radically different subject: Who runs the show on the players Tour, is the tour the same thing as the JaserD ty? -will tell you why I ask later.

I can't speak for others, but it's all good for me! I just wish I had more free time to join in.

There is a group that manages the Tour. Creates rules, settles disputes etec.

Jaser's Tourney is a 4 round deal run by Jaser with a little help.

Both do a good job posting when they start up.

I've played in both this year and it's definitely been a learning experience. Much prefer these type of leagues vs auto league.

Geez-o-petes! This is freaking unreal! I get Chavez back and BLAM! down goes Walker and Mohr. Unfreaking real! I don't think I've had a full line-up since the league started! Did I go THAT injury prone with this club?! Looks like my mini-slide may be about to become a major slide.

Maybe the HOC of SOM is willing...

to take more chances than I do and that is why they are in the HOC...But there are 2 things I cannot stand on my teams...One is pitchers that have a lot of BP HR's on their cards, the other is high injury risks that aren't cheap.

Every time I have players with either bad injury rolls or expensive players with less than 600 PA's, they tend to go down a lot - especially come playoff time. It irks me so badly that I refrain from choosing them.

This is actually the 1st year I have ever used Barry Bonds...And I have actually picked him on every 80M team I have had - with the exception of early in the year. But this is the 1st time I have ever had RJ in 05' - so I had to take him.

My pitching is still a little weak, but my offense seems to be clicking as we enjoy our little mini win streak. :)
