I wonder if we could offer him some type of a compensation package so he does not start behind the rest of us. I was wondering if Rant was willing to give up Uggla (which he previously said he was) then we could give Dave Uggla as one of his picks, and maybe give him an extra pick at the end of the prospect draft. And that would bring him more even with the rest of us.
Your thoughts on that idea?[/quote:3e89e1bd9d]

I think it sounds somewhat fair, I just don't really like the idea of Rant being penalized for it. As we know what happened to Rant was not his fault. I like the pick at the end of the prospect draft as well.

also if I am not online when it is my pick for the stadium I would like to enter two proxies.

1) Fenway Park
2) US Cellular Field

I hope Dave's brother was not also supposed to be feeding the dog. Otherwise, it's adios Fido!

The extra prospect for Dave is okay with me -- and I don't care either way about Uggla.

By the way, Dave will already be receiving a huge break since you turned off the clock for round 41. The original rules clearly state "a 3-hour clock for subsequent rounds" of the initial 41-round live draft.

If we put that change to a vote, I'm okay with that, too.

Not to be the spoil sport in the bunch, but how far "ahead" are we of Dave? I'm mean really - he misses picks from ROUND 34 on. How many of us are expecting to win based on our rounds 34-40 draft picks? If I had known in advance that I'd get an extra prospect pick I'd have gone to the mountains with Dave...

Just throwing that out there - whatever you guys do is fine with me.

I think it is time for another vote then....We seem to be doing more negotiating then playing. Reminds me of the 94' season in the majors.

Ok.
I think that votes are for long term rule changes, and commissioners are for settling one-time cases. ray set up the draft as 40 rounds, which is why i chose to do the stadium draft on this site. I think not having any owner start out the league feeling they somehow have been disadvantaged is not in the best interest of the league. So rather than put this to a vote, I will try to take the feedback I've gotten and make a decision. My desire is not to take power, but to make the league more about managing, and less about voting on rule changes.

We will save Riojadave's spot in the stadium draft til 10am Monday, New York time. At that point folks can just go ahead and draft. Also if Terry has not drafted at that time, we can skip him also (my hope is that these folks all come in time for their picks. It seems that most folks were in fovor of Riojadave getting one extra prospect pick at the end of the 3rd round. I think that is not a season breaker, so that will be the whole of our attempt to compensate for his not taking his picks in round 34-40. I personally would not give up 7 rounds of drafting, even at the end, for a 4th round prospect pick.
If anyone has a huge problem with this, let me know, otherwise, let's move forward and play ball!

It doesn't matter to me anymore. He can have all my prospect drafts if we can just get this season started. I have made it a point and have gone out of my way to make sure that all my picks were made in a timely manner. We all have things that we have to do and responsiblities. This draft has been going on for almost 2 weeks now, lets get this season strated. I thought this would be fun but it seems like it is a lot of frustration.

I agree with Kavisdad on the prospect issue. Prospects are potential gold. To get a potential impact player for a player you'll probably cut next year sounds like too steep of a price.
