I suspect he's thinking about taking a player that may be at risk for not getting a card. There are a couple of guys I can think of that fit into this category... just a matter of being willing to take a gamble on a guy, that if you get will have a HUGE card, but you may not get him at all. :wink:

Or maybe I'm totally wrong. :D

2 years ago, I participated in a couple of pre-card drafts. In one league I chose David Murphy, in the other league chose both Murphy and Elsbury. Both had great strat cards, both were left out of TSN's list. Both had 150 ab's as well. I drafted them in the 6-8 rounds if I recall.

Yup, I've got 9 guys on that list of possible exclusion for this year

3 pitchers
1 1b
2 Catchers
1 SS
1 OF
1 DH

Sorry about that, I feel responsible. I wanted to make my post as soon as possible after thisisray so he might make his 9th round pick quickly. But he hadn't posted his by the time he I left for work. I made my picks as quick as I could and had a proxy watching too.

No worries, everyone has hit the clock. Just feels like forever cause I'm on the east coast and waiting until 3pm potentially feels like forever when you've been up and checking since 7am like I have.

BUT as I said NBD, it's not like we can play tomorrow anyway.

I agree. In a draft going as quickly as this the "...... Is Up" reminder isn't really needed.
