Good solution T - and you're right. All new replacement managers should get a little break when they join, since they're doing us the favor.

add/drop for the old riojadave team

I appreciate the chance to add a couple of new players. I would like to add Takashi Saito (RP - Atl) and Delwyn Young (2b - Atl). The players I would like to drop are Cody Ransom (3b - Phi) and Dustin Nippert (P - Tex). Thanks a lot, looking forward to the season.

Well played gentlemen...

Oops, missed that Smitty. Keen eyes.

My club is now loaded into the Central Division.

Saito is not available, as he is on TCochran's roster. It was a mistake if you are looking at the players available list.

And just for future reference, if a player with great numbers appears available, and you think it is too good to be true, it probably is (and he probably isn't) :) :P

By the way, welcome to the league - hopefully you're in it for the long haul. It can be addictive.

Yes, Saito is mine -- that's the second time someone's tried to draft him off of an error in the draftables list -- although I'd be willing to part with him, Josh, if you'd like...

Anyhow, please make another pick, Josh, so we can finish up the draft.

BTW, someone was concerned that I would NOT be producing a draftables list in the future, as the new commish. It's exactly these situations, where a poor list causes draft confusion, that say to me such a list is a hindrance and not a help.

Ok, sorry about that... I'll just go ahead with adding Delwyn Young and drop Cody Ransom (keeping Nippert). Thanks.

Cody Ransom

OK, thanks, Josh.

If any manager wants to pick up Cody Ransom (instead of that manager's most recent pick), then please post in this chat thread within 24 hours.

We would have just as many if not more illegal picks [i:6132bff9c7]without[/i:6132bff9c7] a list of draftables...

I would have to agree with ray.

If Ray or Page2 or another manager wishes to prepare a draftables list before each draft, that's okay, I guess -- as long as it is viewed as UNOFFICIAL.

I could see where a manager might be annoyed by relying on such a list, making a bad pick, and then not finding out until 10 picks later that a re-pick was needed. If the list were official, then it would be reasonable to ask to have a re-wind of the draft clock -- and that's chaos that we do not need, as far as I can see.

The bigger issue is probably just one of having managers pay attention. No list is going to force a manager to stay engaged in the process. On the other hand, if a manager is actively involved, then such a list is not necessary.

For example, I run a 12-team retro keeper league. So far, we have drafted for the 2001 and 2002 seasons -- for which TSN/SOM publishes NO list of players, whether draftable or not. Our managers have had very few bad picks, just because they have paid attention along the way.

The same level of attention would probably be best for this league, too, right?
