I thought you'd send email by PM. You might want to delete previous post.

[quote:53b47addae]I would need a commitment that a week from Monday is the definite start date of the draft. Otherwise, it looks like this isn't going to work for me.

I don't see a reason why it shouldn't start then, but I can't guarantee anything. If '75 isn't for you and you're pressed for time, no hard feelings if you decide not to participate. (The weekends-only requirement could get dicey too, with weekend-getaway vacations and all.)

[quote:80ab277ff4]My sort of the 1975 closers with a +3 rating shows 23 pitchers. Although it looks like only 5 had more than 20 saves, there seems to be a good selection. At least 14 have a WHIP of 1.20 or less...there's Fingers, Gossage, Hrabosky, Eastwick, McGraw. More than enough for each team to have 1 or 2. [/quote:80ab277ff4]

There are 40 including the HOF'ers. (I know using W.Johnson, etc. for a closer would be odd, because that's not how he was used in "real life," but it could be done.) Not sure if I understand the dislike for the closer rules. I think '75 was a very deep year for "regular" players...adding HOF'ers makes the draft that much deeper. I would think that using the closer rules would make the draft and replay more interesting.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

We're also split evenly for using injuries.

Closer Rules

Postby aceventura55369 » Sat Jan 07, 2006 6:42 pm

I just dislike the closer rules altogether, it has nothing to do with how deep of a year 1975 is. To me they are illogical. With that ebing said if we choose to use them I'll live with it.

since it appears the Closer rule is tied now.. 4Y and 4 N.. and since I was a YES... and in the interest of making a majority as I really did not care one way or another about that rule.. I will switch my vote on Closer rule from a YES to a NO.. and therefore the vote becoems 3Y 5 N....

if someone from either the Y or N side of the injury rule can also make a change to break that tie... .. then we can move on to things like draft order.. :)
