The company DT was interviewing with was kind enough to put him up in a hotel with free beer/wine happy hour! 8)

So we talked Bay Area job & housing stuff for a while, then got into some SOM. DT was cool enough earlier to send me his ratings spreadsheet which had some customized data in it, so when we got together (and since he had already traded all of his picks to Sandy!) I gave him a little peek at my top 30-40 ranked players in the draft.

Anyway, had a good chat & certainly hope it works out for DT to move out here, be good to have an SOM buddy close by.

Qk, where are you at in the Bay area? I've got a new customer in Concord and will probably be out there every other month or so. Was just there Monday & Tuesday.

I'm in the South Bay, just south of San Jose. What airport will you be using, Oakland? Concord's a bit of a hike, about 1 hr 15 depending on traffic, but Oakland is not horrible if not rush hour. Cool thing would be to time one of your trips so we could hit up an A's game, that'd be fun.

I've been going in through San Fran. We have a hotel membership in the financial district so I stay there.

I went to a Giants game last year but haven't been to an A's yet. I'll let you know when I go next.

Yeah, in that case Giants definitely easier. It's not bad for me to go up from work to SF, take about 45 mins then. Keep me posted on the travel plans then, see if we can work something out....

D-T, Qk San Francisco certainly is a worthy goal for a West Coast meeting! It is really sad that so few of the flights to the Pacific need to stop over these days. I do want to try get there next year; my plans for 2007 seem to keep me closer to home base trying to write up everything after a year gallivanting around! Thank goodness for keeping in touch through SOMO.

My favorite bar, and one I almost bought one day some long time ago, was the Edinburgh Castle. I used to spend a lot of time out at Candlestick-- bargain tickets and plenty of seats. I've yet to see the new park in person, though I used to work just around the corner from it way back .
