The first pick in the draft has been made and this thing is underway. I also wanted to point out that Carlos Delgado is in the draft pool and I believe he is an NL only player.

actuaLLy, there was no tiebreaker, it was just listed that way, and that's the way I entered it. al, balmer and turtle have administrative rights if we want to hold things up and flip picks 1 and 2, or we could just say al wins by virtue of his finish in the n-l league.

glennglenn, just enter your username and password from this sight, usually you have to enter twice. if that doesn't work, try the password test, but it should be the same as our last draft, and you are entered on the draft sight. now you just have to get on it...

Got in 7 proxies

Postby TomSiebert » Wed Sep 27, 2006 5:44 am

Good morning.

Thanks to the Sarge for posting the link again to the draft site.

I'm in a conference today and going to a post conference party tonight, so access will be limited. I've got in enough proxies to get me thru the first round, but after that, it's wide open. Anybody whose got my cell number can call me to prod me forward if it circles back around to me.

How can the AL dominate the WS and All Star game so consistently when the player pool seems so thin??? And there are two more teams to draft from!!

Good reminder that the SALARY CAP is $72MM.

Finally: I'm sorry I already picked my team name (Sacrament Governators, in a way obscure reference to the bad Schwartzennegger comedy, "Junior"). Jewnoir is just too, too funny. I wonder if SoM will let me change our name to the Chinatown Exodus.

Last night's Louisiana pick was 588.

I don't want to hold things up, so I'll go ahead and make the second pick by virtue of 934.876 being higher than 934.588.

For divisions, I'll turn things around and note that 439.678 is lower than 439.885, so we've got:

Divisions

East
djl3737-Texas 218
BalmerBaseball (GA) 308
rgimbel (CT) 396
ElkoSkipper/Al Hogg (Florida Cash 3) 439.678

Central
Calbatross (LA) 439.885
Glennglenn (WA) 475
Terry101 (NM) 608
Taters (Minnesota pick 3 lottery) 879

West
kramed (Kansas) 898
SGT D (NY) 978
The Turtle (CA - Midday) 994
He's meat (IL) 930

Have we heard anything yet from Calbatross, Kramed, djl, or rgimbel? My sense is that things might be held up for a while after I make my pick anyway.

I do see Delgado is off the list. Thanks!

I dont think we can count on Calbatross too much today since he's in montreal, and we don't know his access. please check in here with your status cal, and or make your pick and some proxies. if he's not around, little doubt season will open on the 8th rather than next monday, but not a huge deal from here. authorized administrators can help remove n-l players, but PLEASE double check before removal as its very difficult to get them reinstated. the delay gives the rest of us time to lineup our proxies.

i've excluded a lot of guys, but i did make one mistake :( I excluded Craig Monroe as I was trying to click on someone else (the site has been moving slow for me)

Craig Monroe should be available but sadly I screwed up Uggie Urbina style , i will email penn and see if he can fix it....if not i'm sure we can work around it since it happened at the start of the draft

Turtle, it was with great delight I was about to post that I had successfully and vicously removed, much to paradise hot spot's distaste...the one and only machete wielding, gasoline toting Uggi Urbina himself, when I was notified of the fate of craig monroe. Thankfully you realized the mistake and hopefully penn can restore him promptly. If not we'll find a subsitute, although I think we're safe for several rounds. now be careful out there excluding players who may require ensuing excavation. it's a dirty difficult process frought with red tape.

Theme of the League...

Postby Taters37295 » Wed Sep 27, 2006 1:41 pm

I'm having a hard time following the theme for the new AL league. I already have a team created and a name made up based around the American League in general, but let me know if I'm way off from what you guys are talking about.
