Like I said, no concerns at all about spending 1/6 of my salary on one player of that caliber. However, if Tulo hadn't been available then I would have likely started looking for value.

[b:2dbc772e59]Meat !!![/b:2dbc772e59]

So happy to see you here as I pen this hungover missive from Austin, Texas, where a stroll around the nearby University of Texas campus is a jaw-dropping experience.

Not feeling too witty this AM -- a Sunday spring forward after a too long Saturday night -- so I'll just make mention that Marcus Wilby is in another league of mine, so I popped him a message there. Let's see if he shows up.

My team name, incidentally, is the [b:2dbc772e59]Bismarck Piranha Spawn[/b:2dbc772e59] (combining two of Cameron's more obscure movies -- a very early B-movie for Roger Corman, "Piranha 2: The Spawning," and a documentary about the search for the sunken Bismarck).

By the way, it looks like everyone has either:

1) Read the PM I sent them indicating the draft is going, or
2) Posted a message on this thread,

except for:

RiggoDrill and Gumby.

Not too worried about getting RiggoDrill on board, given I'm in another league with him.

Anyone have any contact with Gumby? It doesn't look like he posts much other than to sign up for leagues.

I did send Cal a message on Facebook as well as the PM. He's usually been quite reliable.

I'll probably be offline most of today myself, so don't necessarily send them to me, but PM proxies are encouraged!

MAUER??! wow, luckyman IS feeling lucky, or alot smarter than I could conceive of being in constructing a 60m team. THIS league is going to be VEEEERY interesting! I'm ready to tak pujols if Cal doesn't.

Changes of heart

Postby calbatross » Sun Mar 14, 2010 3:29 pm

I thought meat took Fielder...

So, as long as the next person hasn't picked, can we change our pick? I am not trying to stir things up, but I kinda thought this was like Chess, where once you take your finger off the piece your move is over. It's a long time before my next pick, so it's no big deal, but I have a spreadsheet I am updating and it could have been awkward if I hadn't caught this and tried to take Teixeira later thinking he was still available.... Is there a generally accepted etiquette for what is allowable after posting a pick?

Again, not trying to stir things up, just trying to clear things up.

up to Al, but my ipression has always been you can change as long as next person hasn't picked, after that you're SOL. i'll probably rue changing fielder, but cutting corners wherever possible. fielder was posted for about 60-seconds...the next pick might not be until tommorow.

Meat can keep Teixeira, but going forth, let's say once it's laid it's played.

It's less crucial here than on www.somdraft.com, where picking then dropping can really mess up other teams' proxies. It still can add to confusion to change picks here, though, even if you change before the next in line makes his pick. So let's all be sure of our picks before we make 'em.
