Since there are no waivers(we all get who we picked) what happens?

Do we go right to free agency or are does HAL do waivers randomly and we get to drop our mistakes and pick up players or what? Thanks

not sure of the answer to that- but its kinda moot- there will be only scraps left- even now with 6 picks left the cupboard is bare..

there will be waivers unless there's a consensus here otherwise. might want to think about doing frenzy since it will get us there faster, and glennglenn's right, there's not much out there. usually we've done waivers because it's hard to have everyone available at the same time for frenzy so it's the fairer thing to do.

waivers

Postby TomSiebert » Mon Jul 17, 2006 8:31 pm

I'm figuring people should get to do waivers, because maybe after the draft is done somebody'll want to do some minor tweaking -- dropping an expensive OF to pick up two or three midpriced players, if his team has a shallow bench for example.

I'm not sure how waivers ranking can be fairly decided, however.

Now I am not just saying this because I drafted last...

But...in most fantasy leagues I have ever been in, waivers order is reverse of draft order. That has always seemed most fair to me. Even if I didn't draft last :D

albatross...that would be more than fair, but unfortunetly, the game engine is arbitrary and assigns waivers based on who got the fewest of their desired players on down to who got the most. in this case, EVERY team will get EVERY player he drafts, so the waiver draft order will be cojmpletely arbitrary. will be interesting to see how HAL sorts that out.

I believe when everyone gets all their players, the waiver wire goes by entry into the league, so teams in the East will go first, followed by teams in the Central, then those in the West. So the basic order was determined along with the first round order with the lottery numbers.

It's good motivation for folks to try to get their teams in as soon as possible and beat out the other teams in their division. I do imagine that there will be some re-configuring away from the mandated 11 pitcher-14 position player roster.

Kind of disappointing we didn't get through more today... :(
