[b:291b6dd1c7]Something Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue[/b:291b6dd1c7]

The New Minglewood Blues enter season five cautious but optimistic. After four straight winning seasons, the Blues feel they still have what it takes to compete in the Central, but there are still questions marks for this team which has found the playoffs to be unwelcoming since their Season 1 Championship.
The Blues will return a number of their key players, stalwarts Stan Coveleski and Hal Newhouser will anchor the pitching while Willie Mays, Gary Carter, and George Selkirk will provide much of the patented and potent Blues offense. Fans will also note the return of George Mogridge to the rotation. Mogridge was on the Blues four seasons ago.
Typically, the Blues have used free agency to acquire strong pitching to complement their hitting, however, this year's big acquisition was thrid basemen George Brett. Brett should add to the already effective Blues offense. The revolving door at second base continues for the Blues, this year with the sure handed Frank White at the helm. Alan Trammell, who had been a fixture at shortstop, was lured away and has been replaced by Davey Concepcion. To compensate for a thinner starting staff, the Blues have beefed up their bullpen, adding Dan Quisenberry as a righty stopper.
The Blues will face stiff competition in the central. Control Theory (formerly their perennial nemesis the Diamond Kings) bring a lefty heavy attack while the Perry Masons and Savoy Specials look to dominate from the mound.
It should be an exciting season this year.
