NLD 28 - The Legend Continues

[quote:fd1453b336="joethejet"]Some general notes in his team:
He CREAMS LHP. But, he's only slightly over the expected (34% v 30%) but he's +20 w/l v RHP. Not sure how to explain that. He's not that bad v RHP, but certainly nothing to write home about. He is one of the weakest teams in the league in that category. The Average is around 900 he's around 880.

I wouldn't say CREAMS. One of the things you need to do is revert extremes more towards the mean. Hitters than might have a 1500 OPS towards LHP really only actualize 1100 OPS (averaged with the 700 OPS pitcher card). Like Youk and Pujols. Also, most of his other hitters a XR.

His OPS vs LHP is a little low, but I don't project it to be a ton higher than it is in his park.

DT, I actually do this. In fact, I normalize based on which hand the hitter hits.

That being said, I just looked at the total rating v LHP w/o looking at the component parts. Yea, he's very hit and miss v LHP 4 REALLY good players, 2 decent and 3 blah v LHP. He's not nearly as good v RHP however.

I don't know what you mean by "Also, most of his other hitters a XR. "

F'ing brutal night for us. Losing 3 one runners to Hawk to fall 3 back. AT HOME. :(

Had a chance in all three late. For some reason in game 2 Hal PH Maier for Pedroia v Kuo with the bases loaded. :? At least Pedroia had a chance of walking the runner home. :?

Game 3, Janish does a lomax verus Kuo with two on to end the game. This is after McGehee (e18) costs us two unearned runs.

Yeesh. Getting late, got to figure out how to beat Hawk.

At least we finally have our whole team available to play!!! Yay.

Why after I post ratings does my team tank every time????

LOL not sure what to say ... really didnt expect my team to be doing as well as it is considering I havent put as much time into this as I would have liked ... i havent looked at a ratings by JTJ in ages but I gather my team was supposed to do really badly and it isnt?

Hopefully I can hold out for another week - would be nice to be in the playoffs again. :)

Well back home in S.C. Okla. was nice, but it was time to go back home. Have been overwelmed with AC issues, plumbing issues, and a massive clean-out of stuff that had accumulated for years. I'm finally getting a breather, but I'm still not completely situated yet.

I had several guys underperform offensively. Like big time. Guys I have used in other leagues and did tons better than in this one. And those 1-run losses killed me. Never was more than a .500 team probably, but not as bad as our recored either.

Looking forward to some redemption.

Well, I thought we were going to make the playoffs this time around. Let the division for a long time, but then started to have a ton of injuries. Tonight was the capper. Lost two critical games in the last AB (leaving 10 and 7 on in the process) but the killer is losing Castro for the rest of the year and Pedroia for all but 4 games remaining. I know he's got a decent injury number but I think he's missed like 30 of the last 45 games.

Going to be tough now, down 5 with 12 to play. Will need to sweep Hawk which will be hard down two players. It was hard enough straight up. :( Losing those guys cost us like 250 points on our rating.

Oh well, come on guys, overcome! Get Lucky. Maybe we can have Maier win a game on a 9th inning HR like Sandoval did to us tonight!

Well, I guess we're only three behind Smoke for the WC, tied with Stoneys and Keyz so that's prolly the best shot.

We have the tie breaker with Smoke, but not with the other two.

YEP. I hope you guys sweep them every time! Rooting hard for Jeep, Silver and, to a lesser extent, Big M
