[i:a28ba816f1] how did the other version go? [/i:a28ba816f1]

Well this marked an 8 game imrovement for my team. Went from 4th to 2nd.

Really like the format AT, mostly the fact that there are no restrictions with trades, minnimun players frm franchise etc. The possibilities are quite good. Looking forward to next years'

Thnx agin for Hosting and having us 8)

Incedently in both versions I had identical 91-71 records and finished first in overall batting.

However, in THIS version I was 8th in overall pitching but in the other I was 4th (although I did have different sp's).

Incedently, I had a losing record aganst Big Alric in the regular season (one of the few) so I am not liking my first round matchup. :(

I was concerned that geekors squad might be able to sweep me 3-0 ... so it is nice to split the 2 games at his stadium. Hopefully we'll be able to win at least 1 tonight. :)

Split another pair with geekor, so it all comes down to tonights re-match between Garland & Clemens ... neither of whom pitched very well in Game I ... unfortunately I have a feeling Clemens is the better candidate to rebound successfully.

LOL AT, looking at my playoff stats, hard to beleive that I was the top pitching team in the league..... :?

Hopefully the guys can rebound tonight and pitch how they did during the season, because they centainly havne't so far. And Garland at MM isn't a bad choice btw......

Congratulations to geekor & Big Alric on advancing to the Finals and good luck to both.

Well Garland did about what was expected of him ... and that was implode ... for some reason he pitched pretty poorly for me all season ... so I should not have thought that the playoffs would be any different ... however he seemed the best bet to pitch 2 starts in Minute Maid ... as opposed to Randy Johnson or Myers.

[b:62b4be845d]Team Awards:[/b:62b4be845d]

MVP - K. Lofton

Helton & Winn also deserve mention, but I went with Lofton because he did a great job, along with Giles, to set the table, and somehow managed to keep himself healthy for the majority of the year despite a 4/10 injury roll.

CY Young - C. Politte

Although my Rotation did pretty well, save Garland, none of them really stood out, except perhaps Johnson at home. On the other hand my bullpen aces performed almost as well on the road as they did at home and helped us win a very respectable 44 games away from home. Politte went 9-2 on the road.

Rolaids Relief - M. Rivera

Rivera did a bangup job as a closer and was particularly strong on the road.

Disappointment - Garland

I think we all know why. Lost just as badly at home as he did on the road ... and his 22 losses almost derailed my playoff chances, then did derail my semi final. :x

Surprise - Hillenbrand / Encarnacion

Never used those players before, and both did quite well, and were successful as RBI producers in the 5/6 spots. :)

Was quite pleased by this team ... did quite well offensively considering we were playing at Jacobs Field with 4 guys scoring 90+ runs and 4 driving in 96+ RBI.
