Draft snafu's, some mistakes may take place, release drafted

Postby dspeters5 » Sat Jul 15, 2006 2:37 pm

Charlie told me he put Tony Fernandez on his draft card, #1. I see ccgjps took him in the 11th round. Charlie is aware of this and will release him once the frenzy started. Coaches, Tony Fernandez belongs to ccgjps, allow him to pick him up in free agency. There may be other problems, just post on the league mail message to all coaches, if a drafted player INADVERTENTLY gets drafted by another coach, post a message, saying Tony Fernandez belongs to me, etc., etc, allow the other coaches time to read the thread and release him. Any coach if you pick up a previously drafted player, just post a note, apologize and then release or trade the player back to his home team.

Special thanks to all the coaches again, it is easy to work with excited and responsible coaches.

Special thanks to JOEOC, we could not have had such a smoothly run draft without the WISDOM and INSIGHTS from Joey. He gave me many suggestions in setting up the league, little details that would have snagged us up at several points. It was Joe idea to get a head start on Wednesday. Joe setup the draft page, completed draft rounds, setup the league last nite. He did this because he loves it and is a great friend.

Part of this experience is meeting new guys, jabbering back and forth, and becoming friends. That may be more important than who wins, or who gets screwed out of a draft pick. Who gets who first, whatever.

There is promise for many more Gold Rush leagues in ATGIII.[/b]

Very nice comments and I agree Coach. Joe was the inspiration for my own Fast Six League and provided invaluable assistance and support before and during the draft. Looking forward to a time when I can make the Vegas shindig and actually meet some of the people I've enjoyed playing with in these leagues. =)

I enjoy your company and your influence in this community, thats what this is, I think. We have several new coaches to our circles. Ite is a rough but fun guy. dada has a son that just graduated college and has scouts looking at him for baseball. srmorgan is a school teacher, and cc is polish, see what we have in common. cb is also a teacher that I worked with for three years at our elementary school. I put the hurt on him to play with us. He was a big strat guy when he was a kid. His eyes got so big when I told him about sporting news, simulation. His wife has a little problem as he spends hours playing with diamonddope looking for any advantage. He is funny. Glad you are aboard. I will ride this train until atg3, if you want to get something kicked off in a month let me know. I bet a few of these guys would be up for it. I will be out of town from the fifth of august until the twentieth.

Coach, you've done a great job organizing this league. It's always a pleasure drafting with you guys. Good luck.

Thanks Coach! Nice to know we have representatives of our educational community among us. My parents and sister all teach. Folks are retired though. I've tried to get my Dad to play this but he grew up with a version of strat that involved putting a round pie chart type card on a spinner that you would then flick with your finger for the result. Can't think of the name of this game. Anybody remember it?
