Okay, it now appears we have a majority ruling, stating the minimum starting bid is 10% of the players value, with a $500,000 minimum.
Therefore, any player with a price tag of $5M and under will start with an opening minimum bid of $500,000 and any player with a price tag over $5M will have a minimum opening bid of 10% of card value.
NEXT IN LINE in my brain:
Are we in agreement that when you put in a bid on a player, you also put in the next player you want in the auction, if in fact you win the current bid?
And one more thought before I pass out. I believe we should also consider having more players on the auction block at one time. The way the first round is going, it could take three days to go through the first 5 players. My thinking is we have 5 players being auctioned with a price tag of over $7M and 5 players being auctioned with a price tag of under $7M at one time, or something along those lines.
This way, if you are currently bidding on Babe Ruth but not certain whether you are going to get him, you could still feel fairly comfortable to get in the bidding on a less expensive player.
Let's have some feedback on these points, positive or negative.
