REDBEARDS WINS BIG

Postby The Turtle » Tue Dec 20, 2011 2:22 am

Redbeards moves up from 8th overall to the #1 pick in the FA draft and #2 in the prospect draft. WOW. TimK moves up from 5th for the 1st prospect pick. Tom Pierce is the loser of the draft, going from 1st in both to fourth in both, of course he retains the top pick in every other round except the first. The lottery only applies to Round 1. For those wondering I used the Nov. 27 lottery for the FA draft and Nov. 28 for the prospect draft.

I updated the 1st 2 rounds of the prospect draft, but only the 1st round of the FA draft with trades. The second round is just sitting there so I know the order since we will have a couple of replacements next season.

anyone out there?

Postby cshannajr » Sun Jan 22, 2012 2:52 pm

If so, looking toward the spring, it looks like I have a few holes I need to fill.

I have either cathers Miguel Montero or Nick Hundley available. Also availabe are all RPs as well as prospects Mike Montgomery & Gary Brown. Of course, almost anyone could be had in the right deal.

I need some help at 1b, SP & possibly a corner OF. But, I mostly need a 1b.

Let me know if you have any ideas.

Thanks,
Chuck

It'd be nice to start talking deals and such ... but don't we need a few replacement owners ... like three of them ...

Guys - I think I am going to bow out at this time. I am involved in computer leagues and am starting a new computer league (ILSBC). Even with the recent improvements, I have lost much interest in the online game. If anyone is interested in joining a computer league, send me an e-mail johnlaw1564@yahoo.com and I will send you the league constitution. I have included the "Cliffs Notes" version below. Best of luck to all moving forward. J Law

ILSBC (International League of Strat-o-Matic Baseball Clubs)

After many years of existence as a 20 team league, the ILSBC is holding an entirely new start-up draft. The ILSBC is now a 24 team Strat-O-Matic baseball league. To be eligible to play in this league, you must have the latest computer baseball game and a valid e-mail address. The league uses the most recent MLB roster disk of the game and will have a $10 yearly fee per team to maintain a dynamic website.

The ILSBC is comprised of 6 divisions (3 AL / 3 NL) with 4 teams per division playing a 162 game schedule. Managers will play their visiting games in monthly blocks against the home manager’s CM. The ILSBC will use the designated hitter rule for all American League teams. There will be limited interleague games. The roster size in the ILSBC is 40 players (40/25 minor league eligibility). Usage rules allow position players to be limited to 110% of their plate appearances (defined as at bats plus walks) and pitchers will be limited to 110% of their innings.

The ILSBC will hold a regular draft in early March. The regular draft will be held via the Strat Draft website. Players whom didn't appear in the major leagues during the prior major league season are ineligible to be drafted. All other players who were not protected or selected in the free agent draft will be eligible. This includes players in the "Major Leagues" set and the "Non-Carded Players" set.

Initial start up draft will run in serpentine format (1-24, 24-1, etc.) A randomizer will be run to determine draft order. In following years, the regular draft will run in a standard format (1-24, 1-24).

In the ILSBC, winning will be rewarded! Rather than advocating constant rebuilding projects, we will have a competitive atmosphere that will reward winning games in the regular season! As opposed to the standard worst record picks first, the ILSBC draft order will encourage owners to try and always win as many games as possible. The draft order for the regular draft will be by Non-playoff teams (best record to worst), Divisional Series losers (best record first), League Championship Series losers (best record first), World Series loser, World Series champs.
The ILSBC is a salary based league. The initial salary of a player is determined by the round he is drafted in. In a player’s first year of being drafted, his salary will be notated with a single asterisk (*) after the dollar amount.

Example: Player X drafted in round 1 of the league’s initial season will show a salary of $20*. In Player X’s second year (if retained), his salary will remain the same, but gain a second asterisk ($20**). In Player X’s third year (if retained), the owner now has an option to either retain him once more at the same salary ($20***) and release him after the season or sign him to a long term contract. If the owner chooses to sign Player X to a long term contract, he then must determine the length he would like the contract to cover. A long term contract comes at a price of $5 PER SEASON extended, which does not include the upcoming season. Long term contracts are guaranteed as long as the player receives a card in the computer game.

The ILSBC has an exact method for submitting game results to the yahoo groups page and firm deadlines for all league business. Attention to detail in following these guidelines is appreciated by the league commissioner.
