And the answer is yes...Altho it is generally very unlikely that a playoff team would not have one of the 6 best records in a league, I hadn't considered that a playoff team with a poor record could concievably make the playoffs (and perhaps with a stroke of luck could even make the Finals and win the league championship) I wrote the rule as "the 6 best records advance."
And since that is how the rule reads and play has commenced, the rule has to stand. But I will reconsider that rule in the second round and other tournaments in the future.
So as embarassing as it would be to win the 1st round and not make the second round, I have to honor the rules as they are written. I believe I will make it the 4 playoff teams and the next 2 best records after the 1st round concludes tho.

That make the playoffs, but miss the 2nd round, due to a glitch in the rules. This is a different format than in the past and we are still learning as we grow. Robert

Since there hasn't been a lot of activity on this - the main LOTO thread...How is everyone enjoying the competition in the tournament?
Just to give you an idea how good these players are - Giddyup, who is in my Division as well as BOBBY and J-PAV, actually had a 13 game losing streak earlier this season...Is now 62-43, which is probably at least one of the 3 or 4 best records of the 48 teams and is leading the pack by 5 games now. Imagine that without that run of bad luck - He'd be 62-30.
As has been the case in at least 75% of the leagues I have been in - I am in the Division with the team with best record. Lucky me. :lol: :wink:

i have a good experience so far with LOTO and i actually like the best 6 teams make the next round, regardless of division winners. if the best team in a division is the 7th or 8th best team in the league, in my opinion they shouldnt make playoffs...especially if they have been playing 3 of the worst 4 or 5 teams (in division) for the majority of their games!

That being the case, I am hoping to maintain my wildcard status, as my team - which is playing in RFK, a park where homefield should be advantageous, has actually played poorly.
