Mr. C2. We did the Zion and Bryce Parks a few years ago while on a Vegas trip. Made a sidetrip out of those two parks and yes they were all that's advertised.
In a nutshell here's what we're planning on this trip:
First 3 days in Sedona. Some 4-wheel drive tours, Verde Canyon RR, Red Rock State Park, etc.
Day 4 is all day Grand Canyon. Have a Jeep Safari tour scheduled, Helicopter Ride, a sunset dinner and IMAX planned.
Day 5 we're driving to Moab and along the way briefly drive thru Monument Valley/Four Corners.
Day 6 is an all day tour of both Arches & Canyonlands Natl. Parks. A half-day float trip thru Canyonlands on the Colo. River and a half-day 4X4 trip thru Arches.
Day 7 is pretty much an all day drive back to Phoenix, but there will be one stop at Lowell Observatory. At night we have tickets to a play in Phoenix.
Day 8 (our final full day) will be spent primarily relaxing and taking advantage of the amenities at Camelback Inn incl. treating ourselves to the spa, etc. That's when I want to meet up with Rob and the guys, late afternoon on this day. I have tickets to the Coyotes game that night.
There's an overview of our itinerary. And yes it's a FULL vacation. :D

Lee, that is great!! I'll be glad to see a friendly face when I get there. My office will be out in Chanhassen. My wife is from Canada and is an avid hockey player! She is excited about being able to join a pick-up hockey game. We hear they exist. While she is out in zero temperatures playing hockey, I will have two choices: 1) stand in brutal frigid temperatures and watch her play or 2) sit by a fire with my lap top and draft SOM teams. Hmmmmmmm.........tough decision! :wink:
I'll let you know our itinerary as soon as we know it. I think we will househunt, when the houses are no longer igloos! :D

Jeep is exaggerating. Summer generally lasts at least two weeks. :lol:
Seriously, the winters can get to be very long. We'll often get snow in April, but you can count on June, July and August to be very nice, and usually May and September as well. January and February are tough, especially because it gets dark so early, but if you can get through those two months, and find a nice getaway in March, it's tolerable. Hockey and Broomball are both big. You can find a pickup hockey game at many of the outdoor rinks, indoor ice time is impossible in the winter because there are so many youth hockey teams.

Last thought, I know Chanhassen very well, it's actually pretty close to where I am. Be warned, the housing prices here are pretty steep, especially in the SW suburbs, of which Chanhassen is one. It's cooled off somewhat, but I'm often envious of how much house you can get in other places compared to here. It's not San Francisco, but it's pretty expensive.
