Smokey got home field advantage because of his superior record in his division. In essesnce, he won his division better than you did Joe. :P
Another interesting tidbit from this season is that 2 of the 4 playoff teams ended up with negative run differential. You don't see that too often.
My pythagorean projection of 85 wins was exactly the number I predicted I would need to get in. Somehow I only managed to come up with 83 in the end though. I'm still blaming Rivera! :lol:

Actually, I got a note from Bernie today saying that *should* have been the home team. Oh well. It won't really matter unless I win two tonight so....
Smokey, you've got a good team so it's going to be tough. The POs always come down to crap shoot. Sometimes I've had weak teams win and good teams lose. Seems like when I have good matchups (I had Lowe and Pelfrey - facing 7 LHB in the the last AD and lost) I lose so I'm not optimistic, but you never know! We had to win 8 straight to get in so we were due for a a loss or two. I just hope we got them out of the system! ;)
I've probably used up my NLD luck in the last two anyway. <sigh>

alas i don't like my chances. i really, really wanted it over with last night. hopefully i can get to my pen with the lead or in a close one.
it would seem as though the rules for breaking a three way tie were applied instead of just a two way tie. tough break joe.

Well, we got a credit out of the deal, but I have plenty of those, it's an NLD championship that we want! That's waaaaaay more valuable than a credit! :P :) 8-)
Anyway, we survived at home so we'll see if the HF problem is an issue tonight. We have the pitching advantage, but, as I said, it has rarely proved an advantage in my experience.
Our OBs in your park are low we we'll have to get lucky with our hits or the timing of any "real" HRs we roll. OTOH, Lowe should be even tougher in your park so maybe we'll get lucky that way. I'd say we have the slight advantage on Pitching and D, but you have a slight advantage on O. The ratings say we have a slight advantage overall, but it really comes down the the rolls in a single game like this.
Too bad we can't watch. It would be nerve wracking to be able to!
