[quote:ae707d7877]Are we required to go with a hitter if we win a bid on a hitter and vice versa? At some point we will get the last hitter and only want to bisd on pitchers. Will they still have to throw a hitter out there with no bid?[/quote:ae707d7877]
As I understand it, a hitter with a hitter and a pitcher with a pitcher. We will all be required to have 15 hitters and 10 pitchers so I think we can assume that this will work out in the end as we are on the correct 3:2 ratio already.

[quote:ae707d7877]If someone throws someone out there with no bid and in 24 hours there are no bids does that person nominate another or do we pass the baton to someone elcse?[/quote:ae707d7877] Good question. I would say the person gets to nominate again. Easier than trying to come up with a policy for passing the nomination on to another.

Now... what I want to know is what do we do if someone doesn't budget properly and is unable to fill their 25 players with $80 million?

I would vote that the manager would be forced to give up their most expensive player back into auction and be forbidden from bidding on him.

It's actually simpler than that. We are tracking the money and teams so we will know when a person has overspent and they would be forced to put that last player back.

Also I believe that BobBoone has a valid point on saying when you are out on a player. He says he is out on Frisch and so am I so when 10 managers say out the other two guys can duke it out a lot faster knowing its just the two of them.
Just a thought!

But then we have to get all 12 managers to post and this will also clutter up the threads with more posts.

I think silence alone will take care of it.

The 3/2 ratio won't take care of itself. I could fill all 10 pitching spots, and want to nominate a hitter every time, but couldn't.

Right, but you can't choose an 11th pitcher, which means you'll be forced to select hitters for your next 15 drafts and in each case you'll then nominate another hitter. So at the end of the auction you will have nominated 15 hitters and 10 pitchers and the 3:2 ratio then remains intact.

I think I got that right.....

Nominate doesn't equal winning the auction, which is where thr problem lies. just because i nominate a pitcher, doesn't mean I've added one to m roster.

We can still follow the rules as stated, but the ratios aren't etched in stone when you have more than 1 team bidding.

I am doing my own excel file tracking players and dollars. If someone bids on someone they shouldn't I can let the league know.

I agree that if someone bids on a player that puts them over their projected budget, they lose the last player they bought and that player reverts to the next highest bidder. We have to assume that this would be an innocent mistake if it happens and it seems a bit harsh to take away any more.
