LOTO(AKA League Of their Own) 05' CONSOLATION LEAGUE

By a whisker...lost game 5

Up against Sheets and I could only send Washburn...down 0-4 by the end of the first inning clawed my way back but fell short. Final score 4-5. Two HRs by Glaus got me close but...oh well, it's back to my neckof the woods. Up against Doug Davis and I'm sending Jaret Wright. Game 7 would be Jake Peavy (me) vs Jeff Weaver.

Thanks for the good vibes sent this way :D they almost got my team to get by Ben Sheets.

Will update you on game 6 tomorrow 8)

Good luck to you in your championship run Cummings. We're all pulling for you dude. :D (Oh and if you sent a trade offer, I never got it.)

Now onto my daily rant about my POC team (already in progress but mostly unprintable...) Honestly, I can't believe just how poorly this team is performing, it just blows my mind. I've only got 3 players in my line-up that are hitting over .260?! I really thought that I had done a pretty decent job in the OBP/AVG/ BP effects department when I picked these guys, well except for Uribe but he faired halfway decent on my last ballclub. To make matters worse the bully, which was the saving grace of this team for so long, has finally collapsed...UGH! :x

I've got waaaaaay too many more rants to print about this team but first I've gotta go get some more cheese to go along with my whine and then go back and look the team over again to see where I went wrong.

Well I revamped the team a little and fiddled with my manager's strategy and my L/U's so we'll see what happens.

I hate revamping a team during the season because I'm usually doing it out of a state of hysteria and that makes me typically screw up but I tried pretty hard to think this one through and well...when you're the worst team in the league you haven't got much to lose. LOL!

Thnx Ty :D

BTW the message I sent you wasn't a trade offer it was just my chiming in to say Hi kinda thing. I imagine that the messages went through since Stoney got it.

All best of luck with the face lift, will check your new look in a mo.

Well...maybe I didn't have the best team on the field for game 6...but with you guys, I had the best crowd...and it seems to have paid off:

[size=18:409278f545][b:409278f545]CHAMPS BABY!!![/b:409278f545][/size:409278f545] 8) 8) 8)

Couldn't have been any better: In this years set I think the player I've played the most is Pokey Reese...I don't know why I just love his weak little toothpick of a bat.

So here we are in tied 3-3 in the bottom of the 8th inning on game 6. DaVannon who came in as a pinch hitter opens the inning with a single, steals second and pokey drives him in with a weak slapper :D 8) :D

Percival comes in and shuts it down.

So in a lineup that featured Quinlan, Vlad, JD Drew, Glaus, and Andrew Jones...Pokey was the man at the end. He had 1 RBI in the playoffs: the clincher, and that's why it pays off to have a 1.11 Mil, 2B 1e10 investment in your lineup: You never know when he will actually hit the ball but when he does its oooooh so rewarding :D

Thanks for the cheers, the pom poms and the daiquiris :!:

Serious kudos to you Cummings! You wear the crown well (Just lose the spike heels would ya!).

Now my advice to you for celebrating...Take 50 bucks, throw it on your bed and roll around on it for awhile. Well either that or take 50 bucks and meet Rob at the nearest strip joint.
