Actually in real life I hate the DH, but in this game anything that results in HAL making less decisions is a good thing.... Even with the new bullpen settings, having had such prior bad experiences in non-DH leagues I still try to stay as far as I can from them.

I've made a general posting for a 1999 auction league over on the main forum so make sign-ups there.

I already suggested that idea Mike, and Ironwill said he was interested. So we could put that league on the board also, and see if it fills. I'll do this soon.
I have an idea about this I'd like to float. After the confusion in this league about the 200 mil league with 80 to spend, how about if we had an auction league with 200 mil to spend, it would be a 200 mil league with 200 to spend, so their would be no possible confusion (If I did this, I would have 1 mil minimum for players, with bids in 1/4 mil increments.)

I'm definitely up for a blind auction.

As for a 200/200 auction, I'm not so sure that would work as well. I see two possible pitfalls: 1.) bidding will simply increase by a factor of 2.5, i.e. bidding to $20-30 mill for the top players or 2.) bidding strategy gets wiped out with the unlimited funds available. That said, I welcome counterpoints....

When your team fills....

Postby gorshar » Mon Nov 09, 2009 7:10 pm

So what happens when your team fills?

Do you nominate a player even though you can't take them? No, that doesn't work. If nobody were to bid on that player... well, round and round it goes.

So... when you've purchased your final hitter or pitcher/stadium the next nomination will be made by whoever is after you on this list.

think it would really make bidding get out of hand --- maybe 200/100 (to spend) would work - Think either a 200/80 OR 200/100 might work......Tom.

I would say continue with the 200/80 formula. It's been proven to work.
