Semper, I'm assuming your Co-GM is approving all these moves you're making?

Co-Brain Drain

Postby Semper Gumby » Mon Jul 24, 2006 11:32 am

Oh yes ... Mark Shapiro (spoken "Sha PI row" and not Sha PEER row") is happily assisting me each every step since the team doesn't need to have its attendance revenue to pay for its players' strategies.

Otherwise, I'd start an entire team of Cory Sullivans / Hairston and a spend a great deal of cash on the best landscaping / marketing crews money can buy for minimum wage.

Actually, in order to save $$, and afford Derrek Lees hefty salary, we forgo the use of lighting in the bullpen. In any case, it appear they pitch better in the dark. ;)

hi everyone...just a quick hello...sorry ive pretty much disappeared...it was strictly an issue of losing the fun in playing the game online, the game engine logic frustrated the heck out of me...i'll probably give ATG III a try when its released but thats about it.

JG,

we miss you, but it's understood. Good luck with ATG III. I hope to have some ratings available at some point if you're interested.

Done Hitting But Can We Pitch

Postby Semper Gumby » Tue Jul 25, 2006 6:34 am

Damn, I spent all my magical beans on hits last night and now I'm a tad concerned about those rubber arms in the bullpen.

Well if anyone would have told me Vladdy was gonna go 0 for the series, I've have said there was no way I could win a game, nevermind take 2 out of 3. The first one a 14 inning epic and the second a 10 inning affair that left my bullpen taxed to be sure. Fortunately I only needed 1 inning from the bully for the final game. WHEW, hell of an opening series.

Happy...

I'll definitely take 2 of 3 on the road, especially in Petco with my US Cell team. Nevertheless, I don't put too much stock in the first series of the season.

Heard on Cleveland Sports Radio

[b:a610dd3e62]Host: [/b:a610dd3e62] Welcome to the BIG ONE and we have Joe holding on line 1 to talk about Cleveland's season in the NLD!

[b:a610dd3e62]Joe: [/b:a610dd3e62] Wazzup! Long time listener - first time caller!

[b:a610dd3e62]Host:[/b:a610dd3e62] [bell rings twice] Great Joe glad to have you on - what is on your mind today?

[b:a610dd3e62]Joe: [/b:a610dd3e62] Damn!

[b:a610dd3e62]Host:[/b:a610dd3e62] Damn?

[b:a610dd3e62]Joe: [/b:a610dd3e62]Damn! Yes, damn! I mean they suck* don't they?

[b:a610dd3e62]Host:[/b:a610dd3e62] Joe? Who sucks*?

[b:a610dd3e62]Joe:[/b:a610dd3e62] Who do you think? I mean it is your show?

[b:a610dd3e62]Host:[/b:a610dd3e62] Huh? You called me and now you want me to tell you "who sucks*"?

[b:a610dd3e62]Joe: [/b:a610dd3e62] Well, I have my ratings here and the Cleveland clubs will suck* this year with those injury prone players. I don't know why I even bother to rate this club. It disappoints me every year and I can't see being a fan any longer.

[b:a610dd3e62]Host:[/b:a610dd3e62] Joe ... come off the ledge buddy. The season just started and I hear you on the team's history. We haven't won anything in Cleveland in 40 plus years. We need this team to come through BIG TIME now that Lebron is off the front page.

[b:a610dd3e62]Joe:[/b:a610dd3e62] Lebron? Hmmm ... I rated him real strong for a utility player in PETCO but that is another story. My point is Semper can't win with injury prone players on that salary. It never worked for the Yankees and that means it won't work in Cleveland. [u:a610dd3e62]I'm pissed and going to cheer for women's professional baseball to return to Cleveland.[/u:a610dd3e62]

[b:a610dd3e62]Host:[/b:a610dd3e62] Joe, did you drink too much coffee this morning? The club looks good so far. Hell, Quickie's club lost 8 runners last night to base theft and they may need a defense lawyer on that club if they keep getting caught stealing. Sure the pitching is a little weak but expect this club to show some fight and you need to support them!

[b:a610dd3e62]Joe: [/b:a610dd3e62] Support crap! I refuse to spend anytime rating this club with these clowns on the roster. What does Semper think here - he making a remake of Major League II?

[b:a610dd3e62]Host:[/b:a610dd3e62] Thanks Joe ... we have Sandy on line 2 - Sandy! Welcome to the BIG ONE!

[b:a610dd3e62]Sandy:[/b:a610dd3e62] Hey, what took so long? I've been waiting for 15 seconds!
