NLD 16 Role call and Check in

Postby Jeepdriver » Mon Jul 02, 2007 2:02 pm

I normally have strong pens, but looking over my most successful teams this season the 4-man rotaions are performing much better. Actually didn't notice this 'till AT brought it up and I went and looked.

I have 2 championships so far in '07 and both had 4-man rotations. Of my current teams my 2 best teams at the moment also have 4-man rotations.

Of my 6 teams that's concluded 3 made the p/o's and 3 didn't. All three that made it had 4-man rotations, 2 of the 3 that didn't had 5-man rotations.

Doesn't look coincidental, does it?

Definitely prefer the 80 mil league. You have to make many more tradeoffs and you don't have teams that are even more unrealistic.

Teams are just too good.

Question for those of you who voted "yea", do you *want* 100 mil, or just willing to go along with it?

Guess I'd like to see a vote for preferences rather than "can you live with it."

Hey AT,

I like your theory, but explain our team. We have 4* and Shields as a "strong" 2 IP guy.

Course when your "strong" guy pitches like a .50 bozo, and toss in your 3 inning guy going 2 runs over his real-life ERA, maybe it doesn't take much 'splainin. :(

Jet
p.s. just noticed that Shields has given up 25 HRs in 148 IP. That's a pretty good jump from his 8 in 88. About twice. Ouch. Chase is a HR park, but....

far too anecdotal for my taste, sorry. But please be sure to compete for all of the * starters next draft. :)

Just curious, for those who voted "yea", how many prefer 100 and how many could go either way?

Ugh, Came *that* close to making things interesting in the Central. Won the first two (losing another player to injury btw), but couldn't pull out the third.

Won game one in the bottom of the 9th with a 2 out double by Morneau breaking the tie.

A four run 9th in game two with a big 3 run jack by Duncan got us that game.

Relatively lucky in those two, but it ended fast. :(

The capper in game 3 was losing Morneau in the 4th inning. The bottom of our lineup was already Everett, B Williams and Santiago. Now we got to see B Harris hitting in the 4 spot! Injuries have just KILLED us down the stretch. Brutal. (Hey AT, what's that link to see all the injuires?) At the time we had Morneau, Edmonds, Teahan and Lane all out. That's a lot of offense v RHP with ice packs. :?

Even with our best pitcher we couldn't win it. Webb gave up 6 runs in 7.1. A 1-13 HR and a 1-10 single cost us 3 runs, but with that lineup, it was going to be hard to win. :(

Could have been 4 games with a sweep, but now it's 6 with 9 to play. Think it's over. :(

Injury Report

Your Current Injuries
Teahen, Mark, 4 more games
Edmonds, Jim, 3 more games
Morneau, Justin, 1 more game

Recently off the Injured List
• Lane, Jason, healthy for game 154

Ugh. What that doesn't show is that we lost Everett for 3 the series before and Giles for 3 the series before that and Navarro (no big loss) for 5 or 6 at the same time as Giles.

Oh well.

What a joke. :( We lose one game because we have an e37 playing at 3b due to injury, then we lose Matthews for 2 and Morneau for 3 more. WTF!  Course our injuries *have* to be for the max or nearly the max. Brutal. Gotta Love Jason Lane in CF and Williams in LF v a RHP. Ended the game with Harris in LF and Swisher at 1b. We get Morneau back for a game and a half and lose him again.

It'd be funny if it wasn't so sad.

Even with the injuries, we lose 2 close games. <sigh> What a lousy streak of bad luck. I think we're cursed.

Dontrelle Willis 7-23 with a 6.21 ERA. Now *that's* realism for you!

on the bright side, Shields got his ERA down to 5.00. Can he finish the season under? Stay tuned....
