NLD 16 Role call and Check in

Postby Jeepdriver » Thu Jul 05, 2007 8:08 am

Albeit very late, thank goodness the Law of Average guys finally showed up this week. A sweep last night and a 7-2 record in my last 9 appears like it's going to keep me from losing 100. Believe me, at this point, that would be a huge moral victory for me. :)

Btw, and as I predicted, y'all have seen how my great start was indeed mostly smoke and mirrors and on the back of one guy.

It wasn't a great draft and thre proof is now in the pudding.

But, it was nice for a while.

Ok, there's three, what about the other 4?

Our injury woes continue. Pretty funny at this point. I think I've figured it out, the guys figured we were out of it so they have been begging off in order to go fishing.

That's gotta be it because there isn't much else that could explain this rash of injuries.

Lost Giles for 3 (the max) and Bard (for the rest of the season) tonight. <sigh>

Our current injury report
[code:1:0fa8376f5b]Injury Report

Your Current Injuries
Giles, Marcus, 2 more games
Bard, Josh, 3 more games

Recently off the Injured List
• Teahen, Mark, healthy for game 158
• Edmonds, Jim, healthy for game 157
• Matthews Jr., Gary, healthy for game 157
• Morneau, Justin, healthy for game 155
• Morneau, Justin, healthy for game 160
[/code:1:0fa8376f5b]

Hey, that's only our 3-4-5-6 hitters. We don't need those guys. ;)

OTOH, got some real luck to win game 3. Teahen doubles off of Wagner to score two and send us home winners. I guess you gotta get some luck somewhere.

Big series tonight with Big M. We're playing off for second place rights! Congrats to Big A who clinched tonight.

[quote:b3a87db700]Just curious, for those who voted "yea", how many prefer 100 and how many could go either way?[/quote:b3a87db700]

Sorry, but I find that question hilarious...

Meanwhile, can someone please explain how my team can win 9 of 10 now, after not coming close to doing that the first 150 games. :?:

First off, Congrats to the playoff teams. May the best team win!

Also congrats to Big M for beating us out for second in the Central. We'll take solace in the knowledge that we'll be drafting ahead of them. ;)

The injuries at the end were just too much to over come. The last series was the only one since the one after the drop deadline where we DIDN'T get an injury. Turns out, all we really needed to do was beat Big A twice more and win another game to take first. <sigh> Course, that 10 game and 12 of 13 streak had something to do with it also. :( If we just split those 10, we're also in. Oh well, such it is in a dice game. <sigh>

Glad to entertain you. From appearances, some seemed to just be going along with whatever the others wanted. That's why I asked the question. I don't think it's an unreasonable question to ask, but what do I know? :?

Well, the ratings would say your team just wasn't that good, but what do they know?

Actually, if I get a chance at lunch next week I'll post some analysis if you guys are interested.

I know my team wasn't that good, 162 games is a good parameter.

Regarding your asking (after the vote) could anyone go either way. Well we all voted one way or the other. If your side had won the vote, you wouldn't even ask that question would you.
