Lenny Dinardo Theme League/Season Concluded/Kev Champ

I need to nickname my team the platoons. All three outfield spots will be platoons, Ibanez/Williams, Patterson/Ellison, and Choo/Francouer (I'm not enamored with that one, but what the heck. I have only one player with 'W' power, and I'm concerned that might be one too many in this league, but we'll see, I just couldn't find a good replacement for Carroll. Defense is pretty good, relief pitching after Matthews and Saito is NOT very good, so I have to hope that the defense will help keep the relief pitchers at least a little fresh. No need to worry about per game starters, the rotation goes as it goes, so we'll see. I'm just anxious to see how well Pujols does....

I know this is the kiss of death but I like my team. Getting Mauer OB at the top of the order was the key for me in waivers. Would have really like to get Ibanez also but you can't have everything.

If the bullpen can hold up then we should be okay.

Good luck all.

Thanks Chuck............a Stoney vs. Kev matchup in the finals is a pretty good bet. 8) 8)

Ironically, my highest paid player on my team is a "W" on both right and left..........and we play in the "Cell"! :? I figure my team is so screwed up that it matches the theme very well which only means one thing for this team........a matchup with Stoney in the finals!! 8)

I was really reluctant to keep any 'W' players at all, I do have a couple of 'W' sides, but they won't be playing on that side of the card. I just couldn't see giving away all those BP HRs on the pitching cards. Heck, even if they don't have a single homerun, the parks and pitchers turn them into Pujols. Haven't given up on finding a way to rid myself of the last 'W', but I'm guessing that won't happen, good OBP to begin with, then all those BP singles on top of it, Carroll might hit .350 in that leadoff spot.

This should be very interesting. I suspect it will be won in the bullpen, and I'm really hurting there.

How about:

1) Ibanez/Williams = "Willinez"
2) Patterson/Ellison = "Pattison"
3) Choo/Francouer = "Chocolateur"

:D

Lol, yes, and I think Willinez can hit 50. Pattison is a bit weak against LHP, so hopefully he won't see too much. Chocolateur is the guy who can pick it up against LHP, so watch out for the Chocolate Thunder!!

I'm shooting for .500.....

I have a couple of interesting platoons, one's you wouldn't see outside this league, and it has a lot to do with one side being a 'W':

Markakis/Payton (Mark. vs RH's, Payton LH's)
Iguchi/Derosa
Pudge/Olivo

3 of those guys are "Even" but in platoons.

An additional benefit of that type of platoon is a few of those guys can play both ways when an injury occurs. Again, just wouldn't have this in a regular league.

I'm running with a couple platoons myself...just hope I didn't out-think myself:

Molina/Bowen....Bolina?
Thome/Garko...Tarko?
Kielty/Gross....Grelty?

Not as worried about my platoons as I'm that HAL yanks my SP's at the first sign of trouble (probably the 1st inning!!). 6 relievers in the pen...equal distribution of Righty/Lefty slants...plenty of options for him to choose from.

Hey Jeep, do you have the ratings book?

If I'm not mistaken, Payton actually has BETTER #'s vs. RH's than LH's.

Your welcome and you can expect my invoice for consulting in the mail.

My team is Platoon-less. I may have the worst bench in the history of baseball. My starting 9 had better never get hurt.

If you guys get a chance, my starting 5 give up Homeruns at a shocking rate.......and we're playing in the "Cell". I've decided to go ahead and play my outfielders in the stands.
