Sorry to hear about Jim's health issue... most definitely the #1 priority for him.

I propose we wait another week or so... it'd be better to have the draft on Major Deegan's site anyways, and now that we'd be forcing a replacement onto Jim's situation, maybe it's better to wait?
In a week or so we'd know... (a) Major Deegan's timeline, and (b) Jim's health status/progress...

It's not like we're setting any speed records anyways, and I'd prefer a 25 player draft a week or two from now rather than an immediate gratification of 8 rounds... but I also acknowledge that I'm a new guy here in the league... please take the suggestion as just that... I'm willing to work with however the decision turns out, just think this might be a good approach so figured I'd toss it out there.

I agree with Bill. I'd rather get to do all 25 picks via the draft site, and I doubt if Major D is going to leave it hanging too long.

From the sound of it, I'm not sure if we can hope for Jim to be back for this one. Similar incidents in the past have put him on the shelf for quite a while. At the very least, I think it's wise to look for an alternate, but I think the reality is that we're looking for a replacement.

Does this mean that we'll re-do draft order? Because that would be great.

Why not do a live draft on the sporting news site? We could do it late night or on the weekend. The 1986 live drafts were completed within 2 hours. I believe you have 2 minutes to make a selection.

We need to find a replacement for jedi serious health issue

We need a replacement for Jim, he apparently had a relapse and is back in the hospital, according to Pete. I have sent out invites to Howie, JoeOC, bullmcintosh. If you have a good, responsible friend please let him know. He would have the third pick in the draft.

Sporting News??????

rick raises a question about sportingnews draft site. Does anyone have any thoughts or used it? Question may come up about updating and coordinating the picks, refreshing. Sporting News, would they have access to stratomatic cards? Is this even an issue.

Lets welcome Frank Bailey. He has graciously accepted our offer to replace jedimaster. He is choosing Mickey Mantle, we are back in action.

It's actually the Strat new live draft engine that I was referring to.

Rick, talk to me where can I see this site? Is it toooo fast? That is what I have heard. We used to have a three hour blitz on a friday nite, before we started using somdraft.com. We usually got from six to eight rounds in then autodrafted the rest and entered that nite. Usually, I would have to lock guys in a couple weeks in advance to block out that much time and get everyone in attendance.
