I invited Joe to come over to our home. My son, Joe and I had an afternoon long tournament. We were using the 55 Dodgers, 71 Pirates, 71 Orioles, 63 Yankees, 75 Reds and 75 Red Sox Joe kicked our butts, Dodgers defeated Reds in finals. Surprised the Yankees got knocked out.

I created my own version of negro league cards a number of years ago. I called Strato one afternoon to ask about the all star cards and I told a gentleman about my ideas for negor leaguers, this was in 97 or 98, I think the guys name was Hal. He wanted to know where I got my information from. I read alot of books about negro leaguers, and went to card shows and talked with Double Duty and Lester Lockett. I accepted alot of anecdotal material. I had Pop Lloyds card almost as strong as Honus Wagner. My negro league cards defeated the HOF cards about 55% of the time. I dont think he was too impressed with my historical data.

Adrian posted on the main boards he was going to try and load the new players on to DD ASAP. If he does, I'll start the draft on that. The idea, to catch up, is for everyone to "proxy" ONLY the players they've already drafted until were where we should be. Once we do catch up, people can begin to load proxies normally and that should help speed us up! :wink:

Hey gang. Chris (13BBs) asked if I would complete his draft for him and get his team entered, when needed, while he is away. I'm happy to help out my old HS pal; did it for him last year also. I just sent him a league (that we are in together) mail, asking for some guidelines, and I will need his log in and PW if I am to put a team in for him. Right now, I have no idea what the parameters are, or what type of team he is looking to draft. Are you guys using the new players? And yep, Chris and I were playing the old SOM board game way back in the early 70's; when the cards were one sided, the basic game, no BP effects, etc. We used to stay up all night at his place, playing SOM, and Thinking Man's Pro Football. He loved to play with the '27 Yankees, and I would play the '61 Yankees. We would play whole seasons and keep stats. His '27 Yanks usually beat my '61 Yanks, which was frustrating. Ah, the good old days. :)

Hi Mark! I have a lot of fond memories playing the Strat board game with my buddies. Great times! Thanks for helping Chris out. The league is 100 mil WITH DH. We draft 15 players + Stadium (Unique) here, or on DD if Adrian gets the cards loaded anytime soon. The rest we autodraft and Frenzy with. We were shooting for this Friday but without the use off DD, I'm not sure thats going to happen. If not, it'll be the following Friday for the Frenzy. Time TBA. :wink:
