[quote:dd06fe71d0="dharmabums"][quote:dd06fe71d0="PotKettleBlack"]Since we've been doing these drafts one a week for like two months now, I think it's more about conversion than anything. Was surprised/annoyed to see Bowa go where he did.[/quote:dd06fe71d0]
3rd round a bit early? Of course that was after cheap-Nellie in the 2nd
Seriously though, I did take a particular strategy this time, of taking my cheapies early, after I got Ruth. Mainly sitting out the melee of expensive guys and going for remnants. I wouldn't have taken that strategy without getting Ruth first. We'll see how it goes. The Navin Knaves could be quite knaverly. :P[/quote:dd06fe71d0]
I said surprised/annoyed, not that I thought it was bad strategy. I think it's good strategy, but it makes it harder.
If you look on the drafts, some trends with certain players has emerged. Like McGraw in the third round. After the big five pitchers, you can have pretty much any pitcher in the fourth or later. A couple of cheap guys go earlier, but if you're looking for 6-9M pitchers, the pool is deep and the draft picks are not going there. Example: most recent draft: picked up Joss very late. Nothing wrong with it. Just noting it.
