I'd like to put a stop to the Gotham Gorillas slide and am looking to buttress the club so am entertaining all offers. I usually hold back on mid-season deals, but this season I'm ready to go.

Dickie gets: JJ Hardy, Tyler Flowers, Dez Jennings

I get: Shelley Duncan, Matt Holliday, Russ Martin, Jimmy Rollins

I drop Luke Hochevar (or Dickie can take him) to make rosters right.

AFD to confirm.

Hi guys,

I took Francisco Lindor as best player available, but with Profar already on my prospect list, I am open to dealing the new kid on the block. 18-yr old hittting well in A ball with killer D and speed too.

I would be interested in more prospect picks or a good 1B or CF youngster. Holler if interested.

Funny you say that. I had Smyly and Cole as my top two choices when picking in Round 1. I decided to go with Smyly since he is already getting out major leaguers pretty consistently. I was kind of hoping Cole would drop to me later in the 2nd round....but no such luck.

Palm - I actually had that site still up among my tabs. And had I realized that he was still available with my last pick (Marisnick), I would've taken him then. Luckily I had a little more time to research tonight. I had to triple check the rosters to make sure I didn't miss something. Now I've got Cole, along with Moore, Taillon - not to mention Strasburg and Harper. Let's hope the future comes soon because I need to make some noise in this league.

Cole still great upside but stock has slipped a bit, which has something to do with where he went in this draft.

If I had a later pick in this one I might have taken Cole over Williams and waited for Williams, but didn't want to leave this draft w/o Williams. Have a feeling he'll be special, a .320/.380/.480 2 or maybe 1-range CF is my bet. Throw in 30-40 SBs too.

Dave, why has his stock slipped? #1 pick excelling in his first assignment.

Cole has the great FB but it's supposed to be a little true, so not unexpected that he does well with it at high A level where the simple velo can overpower 19 & 20 yr old kids. His changeup is reportedly excellent, but the slider or 3rd pitch seems to be the big question now. PIT not asking him to focus on that yet, working on FB command as is normal for their farm system, so the 3rd pitch thing may be a red herring, we'll see.

Also remember he's a college guy, so doing well at that level @ 21 yrs old not surprising. The kid I drafted over him, Walker, killing it 1 level higher & 2 yrs younger & FB has a lot more life if a tick slower than Cole's.

Cole still projects as a #1-2 guy, just hear a few grumbles about him that I didn't before, and want to see him at AA/AAA before I'd take him over Walker, Bundy or maybe Bauer.
