Ouch, lost McCann for 15 tonight. :( Won two however. Getting a little dinged up lately, but managing to survive so far. It's not like McCann has been hitting well anyway. .252, 12 HR, 55 RBI.

Hey Stoney, what were you saying about the team with the best offense is the one scoring the most runs? :P

Got blown out 1 game, blew Jeep out in gm 2, but gm 3 was a little rough with the dice - Brocail, who has a 1-5 balk roll on a 20-sided die, rolls not one but TWO balks in the 11th to balk home the winning run! Jeesh, talk about home court advantage Jeepster, what did you pay those umps? :D :D :D

Silver that was a [b:9d52c81dee]wild [/b:9d52c81dee]series! I think some fans are still in the park because they're still in shock.

And there's two things we don't talk about in our camp, one is dog fighting, the other is paying off the umps. So mums the word right now.

Forgive me cause I'm fixing to beat up on an already dead horse here, but just want to clarify something before it gets buried in the multitude of pages that is the NLD.

Joe said,

[quote:08c42eb3e1]Anyway, I hope no one is taking the ratings seriously, I really just publish them for fun and I hope they are fun for the rest of you. If not, I don't have to publish them. [/quote:08c42eb3e1]

Speaking for myself I am in no way knocking your ratings. Absolutely zero problem with them, in fact it's the antithesis, I enjoy them.

All I was saying previously was just let me make my in-season moves without critiquing every little thing. You said yourself, the ratings are meant to be fun. When I hear things like you lost so many points, this pitcher isn't good, this pitcher is playing way over his head, etc., it gets on me ole nerves there.

Sometimes it comes across (just my opinion) that when someone else's team over performs (your ratings) they're lucky, and when you underperform it's unlucky. Just a feeling I get, not saying I'm right in this assumption.

Anywho, I hope there's no hard feelings from my comments here. Everything really is cool with me, and I'm going to try my damdest to win the WC.

8-)

Hey Jeep,

Yeah, I get it. Thanks for the feedback. It prolly sounds a little like you describe because when my guys over perform I keep quiet not wanting to jinx them!!!! ;) :P

I do try to comment when other guys players are under performing too. I think NP and Big A have several players who aren't where they should be.

And, besides, I have to come up with *some* reason for why the ratings are off when they're off right? ;) 8-)

Yes, that's definitely true.

And yes, it's interesting/weird when someone does over or under perform by a lot.

I think we all get caught up to some extent that this game is based on luck even more often than we give it credit for.

It's tough when your starter (Webb here) throws 10 shutout innings and you still lose. Went on to lose 2-1 in 16 in that game.

Looks like Joe & Silver refuse to let anyone get into the WC chase and with Stoney's lead in the East, well that's 3 P/O spots pretty much already accounted for.

Jeeper, tough loss man!

As for the WC, there are still 40 games to go, seven games isn't that many to make up. It would appear that there are six teams with shots that won't require a 15 game (or some such) win streak. Stoney (should already be resting his players), C2 (still holding strong), Burgundy (playing leapforg with..), Silver (currently holding the WC), Smokey (with 7 games back for the WC and the division) and Jeep (needs to get hot or have a couple of teams cool off).

Not time to throw the towel in yet....but, the fat lady is warming up her voice. Stranger things have happened however, in my current AD league, a guy won 13 in a row to get into the WC. He lost game 162 or would have won the division.

for kicks and grins I updated everything. Turns out I must have had the wrong BP for Stoney in the first go around as his hitting went down quite a bit and his pitching went up. Overall, his rating went up, more in line with his performance. Surprised me!

not much to note that's changed a lot I don't think.

Big A and NP are the most under performers,
Hawk remains on the money for Run diff, but way over in record.
AT's offense completely puzzles me. :? But his D is under. Can't figure that one out.
Jeep is getting better pitching that the ratings would expect.
Stoney and C2 O is better than expected. Probably why they are running away with divisions that should, on paper, be pretty close.

Gee, maybe we should play Burke instead of McCann, we lucked into winning 12 of 15 while McCann was out!

Maybe we can do the same w/o Bradley, he's going to miss the next 5.
