Glad to be back in the dance after making it the first 7 years and coming up short the last 2. I didn't get to first place until the second to last day of the season. A couple of Dwarf highlights:
- Unprecedented in-division record: 15-9 vs. Cruisers, 17-7 vs. Dudes, and 17-7 as the tiebreaker against co-divisional leaders the Express. 49-23 in division, 42-48 against the rest of the league.
- Neftali Feliz finishes as a qualifier, with 97 appearances (!), 188 innings, 248 Ks, a 16-4 record and 12 saves.
- Kuroda and Danks combined to go 3-13, both had ERAs over 6.00, and Kuroda threw 5 shutout innings in our final win of the season, securing the playoff spot.
- ICHIRO! A trade that really made a difference for us, as he held on to the batting title even playing in Petco, ripping .333 after the trade.
- God-Awful park effect victims Nelson Cruz (.187), Ian Stewart (.165) David Ross (.200) even in "favorable" platoon roles.
- No one on the team scored or drove in 100+ runs
Effective after the World Series, when the Aybar for Moyer and Giambi trade is completed, and assuming I make no more trades:
