LOTO(AKA League Of their Own) 05' CONSOLATION LEAGUE

Absolutely, congrats to all for a great and very competitive season, AT & Rob, Penn, Stoney, Charlie, Big, Maligned, ET..the entire group did a pretty amazin' job. Heck you handed me only my third non-themed-restricted loosing season...guess you guys are good, pret-t-t-t-ty goooood.

Very poetic ending to a league that took it's while in forming, if memory serves me well I got in around thanksgiving...it's late March and we are going into the finals: Still, as I pointed out before, The team that opened the league vs. the team that closed it, both struggled in the beginning and both roared back with a very different approach, one patiently waiting for the rolls to come and one vigorously re-designing the team halfway though the season.

I know it [i:23f9794050]will[/i:23f9794050] a wild and crazy set of finals...afterall the Cha Chas are involved...remember the Bo-Derek 'do of Randy

BTW, I heard that just like the Angels have the Thunder Sticks, and the Braves have the Tomahwaks...apparently the CHA CHA rally cry is:

Congrats to the Cha Cha's. Made the right moves and got hot at the right time. I wish I would have won at least 1 game.

Cummings I am not sure if it was patience or laziness that kept me from making any changes. ;)

I did feel that my team was better than its 8-16 start, although my faith was shaken, and once we starting winning outside our division I suppose I never saw any reason to make changes. Luckily we won enough games in our division at the end to hold on to 1st place. :)

Rob & I went 6-6 during the season, so I am not sure at all how the Finals will go. However I am just thrilled to make a finals after 6 consecutive Semi losses. Already have a 2005 title, so 1 or 2 titles doesnt make much difference - but that extra credit might. ;)

I think everyone will be surprised...

That I am not starting Randy in game 1 or 2...I am willing to take the risk that I can pull one out at Kauffman against AT's best pitchers and then go with all my strengths in the middle 3 at Shea, saving Vasquez(Who I only kept for AT's team in the post) and Randy for games 6 and 7 - which I have a feeling it will take.

As I said much earlier - Win or lose, this has been one of the wackiest and fun seasons ever for me. My only goal was to make the post season and then see what happens. I didn't even care if it was on the Final day of the season. And I accomplished exactly that.

What I was expecting tho, was that TRich's huge lead would hold up and I wouldn't have to climb over BOTH the Beulahs AND the Phanatics to make the WC. But my Division was extremely tough and I am definitely proud of what the Cha Cha's accomplished - last to 1st at one point, worst league record and 15/16 games behind in my Division, climbing over 10 teams to make the postseason is my best accomplishment ever.

It did, however require a lot of other things to fall in place tho...And that was the huge surprise...Hopefully, this is a team of destiny and I will be able to pull off 1 more piece of magic, but as stated, this has been tremendous fun for me.

GL to AT in the Finals. Robert

Excellent piece of strategizing Rob. The Unit is not a pitcher I'd want to be going up against already down 2 games.

The trick in Cha Cha land was to...

Postby ROBERTVOZZA » Fri Mar 24, 2006 4:08 pm

Let the fans go crazy partying and only allow the players to observe the fun...I didn't want any hangovers against the Phanatics or the Questers because they have been very tough to beat all season...Just 2 more out of 5 and the players can party all they want for the next 2 months.

Then they can work it all off by coming to Spring training a week early...

I am as surprised about the pitching performances as anyone tho...I always felt this team had great pitching - especially the bullpen, but i got rocked so much this season, I ceased the expectation. It wasn't until basically the stretch run that they finally started coming around...And it has seemingly carried into the post.

No complaint from me tho.
