One down, one to go. It was a relief my team didn't get bashed in by Qk.

Congrats to Stoney on his sweep, Balfour's playoff meltdown sealed our fate. Wish we had made it more competitive...

Well, our turn to get lucky against C2 tonight.

Haren actually pitched well, a 5 hitter, and we took advantage of a couple of hits off of Mock's card, an error by Prado (e10) and a WP (1-16).

Really though, I'm not sure we'd have pulled the series out if he'd have had Quentin. That was a HUGE break for us. Definitely a hard fought series.

C2, it was a tough series. Sorry you had the injury bug to both Quentin and Kendrick. That made it an uphill climb for you.

Well Stoney, it will be a battle. We split the 12 games so far. Both teams winning 4 at home. I scored one more run than you did however! :) ;) (Like that matters at all)

We won't have Haren until game 3 so that's an advantage to you.

Interesting, your team hit .342  v Silver, but we put up a 2.86 ERA v C2. Hopefully we'll hit better than .234 or it won't be a long series!

Looking forward to it. May the best team win!

p.s. I'm going camping starting tomorrow so if I can't find someplace to check the scores, I'll have to rely on Wineman to check in and relay the info to me!

I'm back from camping. WM was keeping me up-to-date and I was hoping to come home this morning and find it was over, but it was not to be. :(

Looks like all but one game has been a blow out. Things were looking good for us going to the 8th with a 5-3 lead and Oswalt pitching well, but then Stoney got hot on his card and a good roll off of Johnson's card and, 7 runs later, we had another blow out. That's SOM for you.

I really liked that match for us too. :( Oswalt v Campillo. Now we'll have Verlander (who was shelled in game 2) versus Marcum (who was shelled in game 1) Not sure we can get lucky against him twice.

WM didn't tell me that Figgins went out for the rest of the series. Tough break for Stoney.

Well, we were really hoping to win it at home in front of the home crowd, but now we'll have to get a win at Stoney's place I guess.

Well, we managed to win again at Stoney's place.

We got a few breaks. Stoney got on the board first in the 5th, but Verlander somehow got guys out and then he lost Berkman in the 4th. We definitely got lucky with the injuries to our opponents in these playoffs!

Marcum was just as tough until the 7th. After A Ram missed his 3rd (1-3) BPHR of the game (Weird to get three in one game) Schumaker singled and Cabrera hit a 1-4 2b (single the rest) off of Marmol to tie the game.

In the 8th, Bradley and Teixeira walk off of Marmol and then McCann misses a 1-12 hr, but the resulting 2b scores one runner. Follwing that, Schumaker gets a sac fly off of the X-Chart and T. Hunter (1-13) to bring in an insurance run.

Mauer draws a 2 out walk in the bottom of the 8th, but Verlander gets Pedroia to pop out.

The 9th was uneventful and Verlander somehow goes the distance and tosses a 5 hit, 4 walk, 8 K complete game.

It was a weird series, with really only 2 close games. We were lucky to get past Stoney. I attribute our series win to the managing of Wineman while I was camping in the wilds of Napa County!

Stoney, that was a very good team you put together, I think we just got a few more breaks to pull it out.

Congrats on the ring.

Really a weird series. My pitching wasn't as strong as the regular season but I knew it would be tough against Qk and you guys since you were the offensive leaders during the season.

Thanks! It's always satisfying to win a Championship against tough competition like this.

Yeah, it was weird. Lots of blowouts. Really the top four teams in terms of runs scored were pretty close. Your team put a lot of runs on the board too.

I'll post the NLD History tomorrow or Wednesday. I don't have the most recent version here at home (I"m not working today)
