Thanks for the explanation, Ace. We all declared teams during sign-up, but I assume we are not bound by those declarations during the franchise draft.

I did have us all declare teams which was a mistake on my part. You are open to draft what ever franchise you want.

Just to make sure I've got it:

1) Based on the lottery order. we all pick a franchise.

2) We select 25 players from that franchise.

3) Based on franchise Won-Lost record/playoff success, we pick another franchise and select any 10 players from this franchise.

4) If your original francise had less then 81 win, you will pick a 3rd franchise.

5) Then, based on won-loss record/playoff success, everyone can select 1 additional player from the un-sected players on the selected franchises.

Here is what we are doing...

1. Based on the lottery order listed below we are selecting a single franchise. This will be your franchise and home park for all future seasons.

2. You can protect any number of players on that franchise up to 40

3. The supplemental draft will have two phases.

First, we will draft players from the undrafted franchises, this draft order will be based on your frachises actual 2004 record. Every team will get 1 pick and if your franchise had 80 wins or less you will get a second.

Second, we will have the opporunity to fill in any empty spots on our 40 man roster by drafting players who were not protected from the franchises in this league. Again the order will be based on actual 2004 records.

The additional player has nothing to do with this draft that is only for future years.

Just to follow up on Richs question of clarification.. we must keep 25 players from the roster of our franchise team as a min but we can protect up to 40 from our franchise if we so wish ????

is that correct ??

OK, so our roster will have the initial players kept from our selected franchise, 1 or 2 players from non franchise teams and up to 14 non kept players from drafted franchise teams (depending on how many you keep from your original team).

In the 3rd and subsequent rounds of the player draft, we're talking about drafted franchise team players who have been left off of someones roster.

Why would anyone leave someone off their original roster?

So how big a pool will the supplemental draft have?

I think what is meant is that after the 1st two rounds of the supplemental draft, those franchises with .500 or under actual records getting two picks and the others one among non-franchise players only, those FAs waived by the franchise teams will be added to the non-franchise player pool for the second (and longer) stage of the supplemental draft.

Question 1

Postby ktoe072031 » Sun Jul 09, 2006 12:34 pm

In considering our 25 man roster, are the non-carded and multi-cards available?
