I'll be the nabob of negativity on foggies idea. How much time would someone have to find the problem? Also look at how many times someone thought there was a violation this time around only to get a legitimate explanation.

Have to agree with Rick on this one. Incentivising non-compliance is definitely the wrong way to go. Some of the themes, like mine, are undetectable anyway and already rely on the honor system. Why ask people to try to "game the themes" intentionally? We have enough problems already trying to keep things straight.

Foggy, I'm sure you can come up with something suitably devious and challenging without asking people to try to violate the set rules. :D

here is my idea (when it is my turn)

The title is: "Your GM had a Brian Fart and Acquired Carl Pavano and Greg Vaughn".

Uh, oh......your GM went on a bender at the Winter Meetings. He signed Pavano and Vaughn to "No Cut" contracts.

Now, after the WAIVERS portion of autodraft (I am assuming we live draft approx 20 rounds or less) has run but before the season commences (or as soon as possible following the last "Stick Pick" ---see below), you will have to pick up two players (ONE HITTER AND ONE PITCHER) for an aggregate salary no more than $10,000,000. The Players will be selected by other League GMs in a 2-round draft on these Boards.

This will be a 100M DH league. Of the 100M, you must keep 10M available for these picks. So you must draft based on a 90M budget.

Draft Order for the FIRST ROUND of the "Pavano Stick Round" will be determined based on payroll following the auto draft. The team with the lowest payroll goes first. The SECOND ROUND will be done randomly by using the same lottery states for draft order but with numbers rerun on the day following the evening the AD runs (AD run Wednesday Night....we use Thursday numbers--Highest number goes first). Each team must be stuck one hitter and one pitcher.

of course you can Never drop or trade Messrs. Vaughn and Pavano. Use them as best you can.

....so if i have the first pick, I would pick a player and assign him to any team I choose. Now that has just the amount of evil necessary to be a good one. I like it.

probably a division foe or Uncle.

of course, the same team could be stuck with the first two picks by different GMs.

I would think a wise gm in another division would "stick me" with a couple of good players to lessen the chances of the wild card coming from my division. Just a friendly suggestion.

Now where did that bloody fella from across the pond go so we can keep this thing movin'? Where art thou bigmahon?

OK fellas, sorry for the delay. I've been far too happy this Christmas season to be devious and/or maniacal.

My theme is called "Thou [b:d7f27d1f07]Shalt[/b:d7f27d1f07] Covet Thy Neighbors Team", and it looks something like this (sorry in advance Foggy if this conflicts in any way with your recently alluded to theme; it appears to work with all of the others):

"Thou [b:d7f27d1f07]Shalt[/b:d7f27d1f07] Covet Thy Neighbors Team" - We start with a 25 round live draft. Immediately after the draft, but before team loading, there will be a one round supplemental draft, during which you are free to steal an entire team of your choice. Not happy with the way your draft went? Just take someone else's team! You can also keep your own team of course, provided it is still available when you pick. However, if you do choose to keep your own team, you will release your highest priced pitcher and your highest priced hitter into the free agent pool, replacing them with .50ers until the TSN draft has run. These drops/replacements will be announced to the league. When waivers run you can replace the cheapies with anyone [b:d7f27d1f07]except[/b:d7f27d1f07] the two players you originally dropped.

Got it? :?:
