And in mine with YA :o

Cummings, I'm with you man. At least the middle of my batting order looks okay between Ortiz/Vlad/Dunn/Lowell.

My guess is that Tyber will take my 1st waiver pick. (just my luck)

Rob, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! :D :D

I have to admit that I usually don't raise any eyebrows at a trade in an TSN/SOM League, but that one definitely caught my attention.

Won't see me objecting to it simply because it gets Randy Johnson out of my division. Interestingly enough, in my last 2 live drafts, I traded up big time for the #1 pick, just so I could have the best SP card in the 05 set (The Unit of course). Worked, at least in the sense that I had winning records in very tough vet leagues and came very close 2x to making the playoffs. Always interesting to see how different owners value the same player.

I do have to say that I think Mahay is one of the best LH RP values in 05, so it isnt as if rob completely suckered his trade partner.

Rob if you don't get something similar to this
Johnson, Randy L S7* 24 7 0 316.1 210 93 87 374 2.65 .94
in Shea you should consider yourself quite disappointed ... and that was with my having no bat more expensive than S. Casey.

With Bonds & Randy Johnson and Shea, rob becomes the favourite to win the East. :)

Okay, okay, since you guys are all so curious about who I'm going to take, I guess I'll just tell you. My #3 pick of the draft is (drumroll please)...none other than...[b:0050921d82]Buddy Biancalana!!![/b:0050921d82]

I know, I know, alot of list readjustments are gonna happen now, sorry guys.

Well, what can I say...the good thing about RJ going to CHA CHA land is the imagery we'll get: Carmen Miranda hats, Bo Derek hairdos, hawaiian shirts...sure RJ might beat my hoochie coochies about 8-9 times this year...but if anything I'll get a kick out of the visuals.

Good things happen to good people :D

Note to self: Must be doing something terribly wrong, how come I never get the R. J. deal? am I a bad person??? -gasp-

I don't think I can afford to take anybody else...

Getting home late last nite and seeing the offer, I didn't even think about it...Someone offers me RJ at Shea and I just hit the accept button.

Mal had made a blockbuster offer earlier - including Bonds and Mahay and I gracefully declined, while in the process explaining the usual book on Coors being Value SP's and an expensive pen w/ lots of hitting. So the usual format was to trick opponents into lineups using hard righties and lefties mixed with reverses and let the bullpen shut down those lineups in the middle and later innings.

But since he had all those good starters, I said that since I had not seen anyone go with such a strong crop of SP's there before, I was interested in seeing how it would pan out as the season went along and basically said my door would be open if Randy didn't work out. Of course, I also commented on how even pitchers like RJ can get rocked at Coors - but it wasn't meant to be any kind of scare tactic or ploy - cuz I didn't make a counter offer.

So you can imagine my surprise when I opened up my Trades/Mail page...

But now I don't exactly know how I want to fill several of my holes cuz I basicslly have no cap left. But i amk not exactly complaining...I've just never had 2 players worth 28M before. :D

Hey, I ended up with with 6 starters with a combined total of 5 BPHR chances on both sides of all their cards...I didn't expect to get so much from my draft card. I had to make adjustments somewhere to cut SP salary. I agonized over it, and actually didn't completely agree with robvoz's theory that RJ is a waste in Coors...I ultimately just had to make something happen salary-wise.
I'm still going to end up with a slightly different Coors team than some would construct, but it was never intended to look like my original draft card. Sometimes you gotta take a chance...robbie boy lucks out. You're welcome.

Oh I agree - any pitcher can get rocked at Coors, and at the same time the stud pitchers are less likely to do so. I've never had RJ at Coors, mainly because I rarely play at Coors, but I did have him at Citizens Bank (7/7/15/15):

Johnson, Randy L S7* 22 14 0 321.2 223 97 76 380 2.71 .93

If it were my team I'd have held onto the Unit, but since it is not my team, and it is in my division I say WTG!! :D

Seriously though, each owner has to do what they feel is best for their team - just expect us guys in the peanut gallery to make comments when eyebrow raising trades occur.
