Well, he's meat came in and swooped up Barry Bonds to play LF...a 5(+3) hope the offense if enough!

hope bonds doesn't undermine my steller up the middle defense, but like I said, picking first/last, you get crapped on constantly, so I punted and decided to try and beat some brains in. figured someone would take a flyer on bonds before it got back to me, so I might as well be the one simultaneously excited/exasperated by the oft-injured, one-legged, no-armed bomber. :evil:

I think I've got all the AL players with salaries greater than $500,000 excluded from the draft. It seemed like someone else (Meat?) had done some of them. This is a manual process, so it's always good to do a check as you are drafting.
Not sure that I'll bother trying to get ALL the minimum salary folks from the American League excluded, but I'll work on trying to get some of the more obvious ones as time permits. I imagine that we've got at least a few more rounds to go before anyone starts dumpster diving.
My team, by the way, will be named the Cooperstown GoodFellers, managed by none other than "Bullet Bob" Feller, the oldest living don of the upstate New York crew.

Left a dozen proxies last night, woke up and found one left after 18 picks had been made!
Fortunately, my #2, Nick Johnson, ended up on the Motherf#ckers roster. #1 was Wes Helms. #3 was Bonds. I had him #1 for a while, but the injury roll ultimately scared me off more than the horrific defense.
But Chipper, Furcal, Holliday, Meredith, Everett, Wright -- gone, gone, gone, gone, gone, gone. Not really sure where I turn next.
It's frustrating, but also fun and weirdly exhilarating. You can never stop thinking or take ANYTHING for granted. If there's a player you want, you CAN'T wait. Chances are, he'll be gone. Whenever I try to outstrategize myself, figure I can lay back a round, I lose. That's why I grabbed Hoffman while I could, even thought I really wanted another stud slugger at that point.
Thanks to Elko Al (and Meat?) for filtering out the AL-players. It's a big help...though I will echo Al's comments about being sure to check the SoM site too, because sometimes a good player will slip through -- last year's champ found a (literally) killer closer that way, if I recall correctly, when Ugueth Urbina got inadvertantly macheted out of the draft.
