I am in that same league as Errormagnate, and I think the option Thaibill came up with there, i.e. letting the worst team record wise (RD as tiebreaker?) have first crack at him after game 36 (and if passed on, then the second worst team, and so on) is a good way to introduce him here. As for price, all depends on what year they choose for him, of course, but I think he'll be in the $9-10m range.

i found a couple of interesting tidbits about Maddux...he made his major league debut in September 1986 as a pinchrunner in the 17th inning..he lost the game when he gave up a home run in the bottom of the 18th inning...5 days later he made his first major league start, against his brother Mike, a complete game victory.

Meat - I like your strategy of trying to cause sleep deprivation in your competition last night by saying you were almost ready to pick, then dropping out until 3am while a couple of us refreshed our screens every 2 minutes for a few hours.

as far as strategy, simultaneously forming an autodraft team for a 100m league with NO dh, and confused the two, thinking we didn't have one either. was wondering how hack wilson went so high. thinking there's no DH cost me chuck klein, but overall, fairly pleased, whatever good that is. probably because half my team is guys I haven't used yet, so there has to be SOME improvement!

Joey, frenzy means that at 12:05am EST on the night your league* fills (give or take a minute or two), the FA pool is wide open immediately, first come, first served. Waiver's sets the opening of the FA pool to 5pm EST a couple of days after your league fills.

*In other words, lets say your league filled at 6:30pm EST. The frenzy would go off that night around 12:05am EST.

Thanks for the info. Trying to learn the terminology as we go along. Must be fun, aggravating and certainly chaotic all at the same time.

It is fun. But, no where near the desperate intensity like back in the days of ATG 1. THEN, the frenzy didn't go off until around 4am. And, the player pool was only about a third of the size it is now. In those days, there really WAS a mad scramble to get that coveted CF, 2b, SS or SP. It really was you snooze, you lose! With ATG 4, you can miss the frenzy all together and still put together a competitive squad.
