LOTO(AKA League Of their Own) 05' CONSOLATION LEAGUE

Postby cummings2 » Fri Jan 20, 2006 2:52 pm

Only time I saw RJ in Coors, it was oan OK record with an era over 4. will get numbers later and post them...he had a fairly ok DEF behind. It did seem like a waste of 11 Mil in coors...but then again that's only one season maybe all other times he's been gravy in coors

I didn't exactly say he was a waste...

But I did say even RJ gets rocked at Coors. And with all that starting Pitching cap, it could be used top get more hitting and a better bullpen.

I actually never even made an offer for Randy. But that doesn't mean that I would turn an offer down - I am forgetful, but not stupid...

I really think I will enjoy the play tho, not even attempting to draft him since the 2nd season and realizing that the likelihood ofever drafting him was not very good - decided to go for position players with 7 of my 1st 10 pix every time.

Actually I should rephrase myself (my bad) I don't think Randy is a waste, even in Coors. In a way a deal like this, happening in pre-waivers is very justified in the freedom it allows to shape the team.

Most importantly, I think the world of both Maligned and Rob, so I am sure to follow both of your transactions and learn a thing or two about budget allocations.

As I said before, I am very much looking forward to the sight of Randy with the Bo Derek look :D

Still a bit lost with my team but very psyched about the beginning of the LOTO season.

I have found it really hard to balance budgets with players over 10 mil, now I have two...should be an interesting season for me.

Before the season begins and the competitive spirit kicks in:

Good luck to everyone, hope the rolls roll your way and thanks a bunch for rolling out the LOTO welcoming carpet to us :D

Well I missed the post waivers party but I was able to get a couple of my picks. I've got 2 mil to play with but, to be honest, my brain is totally fried out from work today. I tried looking the team over but nothing glaring is leaping out at me at the moment so I think I'll just sleep on it and look the team over again tomorrow.

I guess I'll go with this funky looking team of mine, will trust Jessica Rabbit can do a good job managing and motivating my guys...don't know, not really used to the high salary Pujols-Rolen combos so that has forced me to go with several choices I wouldn't normally go with.

Hope my first showing in LOTO is good enough to earn me an invite next year.

Thanks again Rob, your team looks tough...the whole division looks so tough I am starting to get some carpeting just in case I find myself steadily holding on the 4th spot.

Good luck y'all.
Good luck all

Just in case I didn't say it...

And thought I did...WELCOME EVERYONE to LOTO(League Of Their Own.)...Former players - welcome back...New Editions - welcome to the family of SOM Cyberbuds who have come to be my favorites here at TSN... To say the least, I have gotten tremendous feedback from many of the players here and so it looks as tho LOTO will continue to grow... :D

It has always been based primarily on friendship and players who I have known, played previously or came from recommendations from other players I know and trust...So far so good...

The idea behind it was to invite friends who are very competitive and enjoyable to interact with in a VERY SIMPLE A.D. Format with just some simple twists to make it more interesting.

The only reason LOTO has been by invitation only is to keep out any of the various negative elements that occasionally slip into an AD.(I am sure everyone here has had at least 1 bad experience with ithis before.) Plus it is just more fun playing against people you know.(Or more annoying - like any family  )

SIMPLICITY - COMRADERY - FIERCE COMPETITION...The 3 things I always looked for in any leagues I played in the past 4 years...

Some of the newer players came from an incredibly chatty competitive bunch that Tyber put together in a Vets/Rooks League and the fun and banter carried right through the entire season - which was most enjoyable.(It was actually a League in which I seemed to find my true SOM identity and team Name.) All swpsychic/robvoz teams will now be called the CHA CHA's...

So everyone are absolutely most welcome additions here...

So Lets Get Ready To CHA CHA!!!! :D :D :D

GL Everyone, Robert

Methinks Rob also found his true gift as a marketing genius AND fashion designer along the CHA CHA way :!:

All best of luck Rob, see ya in game 7 over at CHA CHA stadium...any interesting festivities planned for the stadium atmosphere this season?

Altho my team did not perform even...

Close to expectations in VET/Rooks 101 - The opening of CHA CHA Stadium was a huge financial success. We filled the seats almost every single night - so being the type to give back to the community - Opening day against TRich's Beulah's - with the exception of the expensive seats - is "ON THE HOUSE" - So Opening Day is the 1st of many Fan appreciation Days.

Because we have invited so many children to the Park, we will be keeping the more risque' activities to a minimum. Just bikinis...No topless, or bottomless deals until we get the season underway...But as an extra added attraction - all the female vendors will be wearing see through tops and low cut Black bras with leather hot pants and black roman style wrap up the leg sandals.

The men are required to wear Chippendale style bowties and very thin clingy mesh tops with ultra tight jeans that have "Pinch me for a buck" embroidered on their behinds...All proceeds will go to charities like the "Retired Strippers Health Fund." Something I created at the end f last season - when I foiund out that Erotic Dancers don't have any benefits.

But for the most part, we just play it by ear - like the Butterfingers bars deal last Season.

Hey, I am an American Original - In the tradition of Bill Veech...
