Rjoha Dave. That's a worst case scenario but it could happen like that.

I am drafting to win this year. My first pick with Jones was a surprise because behind Pulhols he is the best hitter in the league. Glad to get him anyways.

Has anyone went on Diamond Dope and used their DIY to determine the best players yet. I have started to but is very time consuming. So far I have only finished the first 115 hitters and 50 pitchers, so the length of the draft has been benificial to me. I think I am going to throw in the towel and just pick by the regular stats and how the players are doing this year.

Glad to hear that the draft will resume again soon and that the clock will be running permanently now. This whole delay thing was bad news.

As to the results so far, it's interesting to watch the 08/09 mix and the pitch/hit/field priorities -- should lead to a nice variety of teams.

One of the hardest things is not knowing what stadiums we'll be using. In a salary cap game, you know that in advance, but here you need to look at a range of stadiums that might fit the philosophy of the team being assembled.

In that regard, there's some good data at http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/parkfactor/_/year/2008

With a 200 million cap, this is a true keeper league. I've been in 80 million dollar keeper leagues and you can't afford to keep the players you drafted cheap the year before. The supplemental and prospect drafts should keep everyone involved.

[quote:d275e3d47f="RiojaDave"]I'm not to clear on this "on the clock, off the clock" and skip picks.

Right now it's 4:45 est. Rant has pick #77, then Zim13, then me at #79.

So at 10:00am the clock will go on. Rant will then have 3hrs to pick. After 3hrs, or a pick, then zim13 will have a pick. He will have 3hrs to pick. Then it would be my time to pick, at 16:00. How am I doing?

Could this happen? Rant goes to 13:00est, then it is Zim13, he is on proxie, so at 13:05 he picks. Lets say that everyone else is on proxie, then Rant would be up again at about 14:20. Is that possible?

Thanks[/quote:d275e3d47f]

No proxies will fire unless a pick is made. At 13:00 zim13 can pick. At that point all proxies will fire if he picks and we can keep making picks until Rant is up again.

This really sucks. I wasted a Sunday, and now this.

This lack of commitment/courtesy is what really can make a league like this a pain in the ***.

Had Hawpe going much earlier than round 9. Was planning on taking a pitcher but when Edwin Jackson was taken I couldn't pass up the value for next season.
