I, too, think we should keep this league as it is. We knew this one would take some months to get ready, and there has already been alot of strategy involved which would be negated by a switch midstream. Now that I am an official Wet Blanket, though, let me wish you all a very special holiday....Mike

I have to agree to keep this draft as it is, but Gorshar if you do get an ATGV auction league together like that let me know. I would definately be interested, I was trying to think of a blind-auction idea like that myself and I like yours. If you stuck with the 5 players (3 hitters, 2 pitchers) theme and had 24 hours to accept everyones bid it would go a lot quicker! People could even PM if they pass, so if you get 4 bids and 7 passes you could post the winner even quicker.

Hurry up and wait!

this describes my place in all 3 auction leagues, in all 3 I have spent early for guys I wanted, and am waiting for others to spend their money so prices come down to a point I can compete. I am still learning about auctions, and don't feel I have done a stellar job in any of the auctions. In 1999 my strategy by having the guys I most wanted (Alomar and a couple of others) bid sky high, higher than i was willing to go, and had to settle for second and third choices, The team I have now is not a lor like what I was aiming for.

Don't feel bad.... I am in the same position. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the auction plays out, but right now I am feeling like a spectator for much of the auction... waiting to enter a disappointing team into a league.

Thought I should copy this post regarding what happens as money starts to get tight. The main issue is 3 paragraphs below.

If I am reading this right (and I stated this before) CATom has 3.1 discretionary money which means the highest he can bid on a guy and still put 0.5M on everyone else is ACTUALLY 3.6M.

Right now he has 9.6M left and 13 guys/stadium to still get. If he spends 3.6M on one, he will have 6M left for the other 12 (which is 0.5M each) so his actual (and everyone's for that matter) highest amt he can bid is 3.6M.

The point about bidding on multiple players brings up a new point. I think he should be able to bid on all 3 until he wins one and then must drop out of any other bidding (and if he's winning an auction have his latest bid rescinded).

my 2 cents as the issue hasn't been addressed.

I disagree.
I don't believe we should be able to bid with money we don't have.
That unfairly drives up prices for those who haven't spent all of their $$$.

Also - getting close to time to be sure we will have legal draft cards.

I think in 1999, that means 10 pitchers... at least 5 of whom can start...

At least two legal catchers.

Am I missing anything?
