2. Why? The texts Dave had dispatched to me about The Clock were in fact directed to one of the backup office phone lines ... which his cellphone had dutifully saved from a recent call from me ... so I never got them.

3. The first of the month is client billing time for my little law firm ... so I did not get on for my usual morning perusal of teams and stuff ... and I didn't see a little reminder from the North Taxes Window Maker ...

4. I was one of those Dave refers to who didn't factor in we wanted all picks completed by Thursday eve.
