If you have to trade for the rights to a player previously picked, what can you trade? If I understand, you must likewise swap a player eligible on the other team. This makes trading a bit of a challenge, no?

Been following your discussion here and I understand your explanation of the stated rules.

My question would be - if after all this initial drafting of the franchises, is there any provision for "trading" a franchise in for one that hadn't been picked because of a similar situation. A player or group of players is not available on the original franchise you selected because he or they were selected earlier. If Andy hadn't mentioned Pete and Dazzy, rburgh may have not even thought to mention it.

Someone else might find themselves in the same predicament after all the franchise drafing is done, particularly myself!

BTW, I am OK with the approach, just wanted a clarification. In these Era draft leagues, that is the fun of it, making due with what you get. I say no trading other that what has been defined.

I did one once where we split the pitching and hitting and managed 2 separate drafts. I think Mike and Andy may have been part of it. Now that was fun!

sorry about mistake on the rules. I am trying to monitor 3 separate drafts on a smartphone while away from computer access. I said a smart Phone, not a smart phone Operator. :D

I haven't done one of these with all of the new cards so not exactly sure how the trades will pan out. That being said in past leagues people would swap NEL players and/or position in the draft. An example could be that I have the rights to the cheap Jack Clark card. If Modmark who took st Louis exp wants to use it he could trade me his earlier 4th rd pick for my later pick. He can also wait to after the draft cards and hope that I do not pick the card.

As stated earlier, the tiebreaker rules aren't perfect but there has to be something to define who gets who.
