2006 Beat the Boss Draft Thread

Postby CHARLESBELL » Thu May 04, 2006 9:14 am

My two cents is do another lottery for the player picks since we didn't say how the draft order would be defined up front. We could even use last night's numbers if we wanted to get the things started today (and no, I haven't looked at the numbers :P )

The low to high salary would have been cool to do, but we would have needed to state that up front because knowing that might have affected some of the team picks.

I'm cool with whatever we decide to do, though.

Lottery picks would work for me, last night or tonight.

I would rather see reverse order. I think the guys who picked in the top five had a significant advantage. St. Louis or Houston and anyone else would be better than what I got at 8th and 16th. If we go through a new draft someone will inevitably get position 8-12 who already was in the bottom 8-12 the first time. I don't think a reverse serpentine is completely "fair" it is as fair as you can get with two rounds. To me it is about getting five or six great players. But I will certainly do whatever people want. Maybe we should vote? Thanks. 8) Paul

Well, Honestly I think the closest thing to having these rounds help level the playing field is doing reverse order, I mean the way you guys felt when the second round came around to you and you said "geez...there's nothing left really"...well, that's how I felt for my first pick, the difference between a top franchise that provides with almost an entire team and the 10th pick is huge and we all know that.

Reverse from draft is how it's been done in the two other team based leagues I've been in before and that's how I assumed we would do it here, my bad for now confirming.

Charlie makes a very good point though, since we didn't specify another draw seems like an option.

I'll do whatever the group is cool with.

Here goes:

1. mikesblues
2. Lumbercompanysouth -New Draw
3. BD Bruisers - New Draw
4. bobm1007 -New Draw
5. bunbury
6. charliewb - New Draw
7. BigAlric
8. Sacramento Yankees - Reverse Draft Order
9. JAMIE399 - Reverse Draft order or combined Salary
10. etdefender - Reverse Draft order
11. djl3737 - Reverse Draft order / New draw
12. Cummings2 - Reverse Draft order

Well, it seems like new draw is the way the league is pulling. I really think it's not fair, regardless of where my pick is next [i:0fac770b46]I[/i:0fac770b46] don't agree with this, but I'll go with the flow.

I was counting on having the third supplemental pick and took that into account when I drafted my two teams. I would be very much opposed to changing it now
