Semper Gumby,
Actually I am pretty sure it was treyomo's 12 team experiment that helped rationalize the unexplained cold streak for hitters in favorable parks.
He was able, with TSN assistance, to put 12 teams into 1 league, and he loaded some teams with very strong hitting lineups and put them in hitters parks and facing teams with .50 pitchers and some of the hitters STILL underperformed, and others went cold after being hot all season. There was documented proof that on average the hitters performed worse in the 2nd half as compared to the first.
After that TSN, read Bernie, took a very close look at the logic and found out that there was a code on that caused offensive players to cool down unnaturally if they were on too good of an offensive streak.
Of course, I am sure your grumbles, as well as those of several others helped lay the groundwork for treyomo to do his experiment. :)
